"I think this is one of the better vets in the city. Reasonable rates, and flexible scheduling. Dr. Davidson is a very experienced vet and particularly good with cats."
"So unprofessional and unbelievably bad care. I could barely get a word in because Dr. Davidson spoke over me the entire appointment both times I went in. He ended up prescribing some really intense sedative medication for my kitten for travel, and after doing my own research I decided to get a second opinion because I read some scary things about it. The second vet I talked to and a family member who works at an animal shelter were both appalled that he'd prescribed it. They said the medication was no longer common practice because it was so dangerous. It might have killed my kitten if I had trusted Dr. Davidson. The front desk is also very rude, and they never answer phone or email. My appointment started late because the Dr. Davidson was ranting about politics in the lobby with someone. I had to call every single day for four days to get a follow up. Please take your animal somewhere else. Your pet deserves better."
"It’s not 5 star service, but you get what you pay for. I’m okay with waiting in line for hours; I’m used to it for my own services because I’m on MediMedi. That’s not why this review is marked down. It’s because I have noticed that while the doctors and assistants mean well, I rarely hear back about my lab results on time or even consistently. I know they love the animals and are doing the best they can in a field where it’s very easy to lose patience and difficult to find good reliable assistance. I know that most people especially these days don’t want to work more hours and that it’s hard to develop systems that work in all scenarios. It takes a certain amount of persistence to get the services you need from them, but they are worth it. These days, I’m only going to them even though they are this far away because they are conveniently located close to the only Chinese grocery store that I know of in the west side. I am someone who also goes to overland for my services but decided to try someone new. I have never had a problem with parking there even on busy days when I decided to take a risk with parking in the spaces designated for CVS next door. I would simply walk back out there to repark as soon as I noticed it get less busy in the waiting area. Even with an appointment, I would set aside at least an hour to wait and another hour for them to perform services. (By comparison, the worst case scenario is when I was at a dentist with an appt, and was told about two hours after waiting for a doctor that I would not be seen. These things happen, and I still go to them because I know there are even worse things that happen. At least they told me, and no one died while I was waiting.) Here we worry about our faithful furry friend’s lives and, it’s easy to lose perspective while you wait, but it’s always a privilege to be able to be with all caring individuals, including furry or harried ones. I’m hoping to hear back from them soon about my cat with hyperthyroid disorder. Happy MLK weekend!"
"I’ve hard the worst experience with the support staff at this facility. While the doctor himself was wonderful tow work with, the staff at the front desk made every interaction and experience here an absolute nightmare. I made an appointment for 3pm and was seen at 5:30pm. The next time I tried to schedule an appointment to receive a health certificate, I received 3 voicemails stating that I “did not need to schedule an appointment and that I could receive the certificate with a quick walk in service.” I called 3 times requesting confirmation that this was true and received confirmation. When I arrived for my walk in appointment I was told that I actually needed an appointment and that I’d have to wait for an hour. I ended up waiting 2 hours and paying for more than an appointment. The staff have no respect for the patrons’ time and are extremely disorganized."
"I had an appointment for 11:45 am and was not seen until 2 pm! 2 PM! I WAITED FOR OVER 2 HOURS WITH AN APPOINTMENT AND NO OTHER EMERGENCIES IN THE OFFICE for someone to do a simple check on my dogs coat as he's been having scabby, dry skin with puss in it. I told the veterinarian that he needed his anal glands expressed as well, so they took him to the back to do so. I heard him yelp and scream (which he has never done for an anal gland expression) and they returned him to me at the front with BLOODY FEET. They placed him in my arms covered in blood which got all over myself and his nails are STILL bleeding over 45 minutes later. It looks like they might have cauterized his other nails to stop the bleeding as half of his toes are yellow in color on the bottom (which I've NEVER seen on him as I usually clip his nails on my own). THEY PERFORM PROCEDURES ON ANIMALS WHEN THEIR OWNERS DO NOT ASK FOR IT AND THEN TORTURE THE POOR ANIMALS LEAVING THEM BLOODY AND CAUTERIZED. This was my first AND my LAST time coming here. I'm absolutely shocked and appalled by my experience at Value Vet in Westwood."
