"Dr. Amanda Wheeler is DEFINITELY one of the best breast surgeons out there! I am so grateful she not only took over my case after Dr. Metkus retired (she was also terrific too!), and there was also a continuous level of care and nothing went amiss. Of course physicians may move or retire so the fact that Sutter was able to secure a physician like Dr. Wheeler means the world to me. I have had my fair share of medical issues up to now so I've met many a physician and stepped into many clinics. The minute I met Dr. Wheeler for the first time she put me at ease. She has a down-to-earth nature about her explaining medical issues at a level that was understandable for me. I so appreciate that since I would walk into my appts with a high level of anxiety. She's incredibly smart, experienced, personable and walks you through the different options/decisions. When it was time to make a decision about moving forward on a double mastectomy, she spent lots of time talking to my fiancé and me and answering every question under the sun - it was a lot I'm sure, but yet I didn't feel rushed at all. Those moments I will treasure forever since it builds trust... and I am so thankful for that. Her staff too is soooo wonderful - the gals who work the front desk are professional, supportive and understanding. No one wants to go to these type of appts, and they make it bearable :) Michelle Lee NP and Allison Bunch NP are top notch too. Allison has been by my side for years leading up to this big surgery. She is so empathic, knowledgable and so wonderful at what she does. Michelle is so terrific! I met her recently this past summer for a lumpectomy and then at my double mastectomy surgery, and I was so grateful to see her in the pre-op room. She brings a sense of lightness to a heavy situation and is incredibly smart. I'm so grateful for both of them! So... this was a very long review but one I felt compelled to write. Dr. Amanda Wheeler and her team are truly the best, and I am so thankful for all of them!"

"I had surgery back at the end of January to remove multiple large masses in my breasts. As soon as I had my bandages removed, I noticed that it felt like the masses were still there. I reached out to Dr. Wheeler’s medical team regarding this and they said it was probably scar tissue and was nothing to really worry about. A few months later, the masses were still very noticeable so I made a follow up appointment with the doctor to see what was going on. She became very defensive and acted as if I was accusing her of not removing anything during my surgery. That was not at all the case; I just wanted to figure out why I could still so prominently feel the masses. She told me to see another doctor and said that she did not remove all of the masses. I am horrified. I had a month of recovery from this surgery and paid over $1,500 out of pocket for her to not remove everything. I also have very bad scars that have made me pretty self conscious. I am so upset by the treatment and care from Dr. Wheeler. All of this pain and money to now have to have another surgery from a better doctor to remove the masses that she should have in the first place."
