"I am very grateful for Dr. Fisher’s excellent care putting my gastric cancer in remission! Dr. Fisher is one of the BEST oncologists in the Bay Area. I was very lucky to be his patient! Dr. Fisher never sugar coating about the disease which to me is very important — because knowing the facts helped me to better prepare for the treatments as well as be motivated to change my lifestyle towards the long term survivalship. Along the treatment process, he listened to my concerns of some side effects and quickly modified the approach to ease the side effects without losing the effectiveness of the chemotherapy. His expertise is world class and he explains complicated medical knowledge clearly. Despite his very busy schedule, he is caring, humble, and truly has the best of interests for his patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Fisher to anyone who is on the journey fighting gastrointestinal cancer. THANK YOU, Dr. Fisher! You mad a positive impact to my life ^_^"
"I've been living happily with cancer for just over 12 years. At the time of diagnosis, average life span was 7-8 years, up to double that if you see a specialist, so that is what I did. I've had two specialists, as Carcinoid Cancer is rare and in 2010 there were only two specialists, one at Cedars and one at UCLA for all of California. My specialist at Cedars moved out of state so I looked around and Dr. Fisher had been designated a specialist by that time. He has been in charge of my treatments now for several years. I live in Reno so basically; he supervises anything I do testing and treatment wise and has done an incredible job. He is very humble, good sense of humor and travels the world speaking to oncologists about Carcinoid Cancer. He is a professor at Stanford and stays up to date on all thing's cancer! I'm very lucky to have him. Oncologists here have suggested different approaches that he systematically shot down."
"Nationally renowned medical oncologist specializing in GI Oncology. Leadership in large clinical trail consortia. Widely appreciated for warm bedside manner and winner of many teaching awards at Stanford."
"My wife passed away at Stanford on 1/3/2020 and George was the attending physician. I would like to share my wife’s experience to prevent him from hurting any more family. He first harmed my wife by telling her he did not have medicine or treatment for her and asked my wife just wait to die on the bedside while we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and my wife felt so energetic and happy before he came toward her. Secondly he told my wife to look outside on the rainy New Year day and he said to my wife that it might be the last rain you could see. It was totally unethical for any doctor to say this to a cancer patient. Lastly he stuck out his hand trying to shake hands with my wife, but suddenly he withdrew his hand while my wife’s hand was already out It is so disgraceful and hurt my wife so badly. He totally destroyed my wife’s mental will to live and we did not know each other before. I do not know why he did this to my wife? He really should not be a doctor anymore."
