"Was a bit breathless when I first stepped inside as it reminded me of a hybrid garage sale and a thrift store. They're were new, used and even damaged items. Employee was very friendly and helpful even researching a sleeping pad I was interested in but the nozzle was damaged unfortunately. Not sure if he would've entertained a further price reduction. Racks and racks of clothes were hanged and folded nearly bit in no particular sizing or type of order. Just about anything you can imagine could be found there except for large appliances or furniture from electronics to clothes to auto accessories, toys, outdoor and sporting gear, personal care, shoes, small appliances, household and bedding. I'm sure there can be some really good finds there if you have at least an hour to really dig into the stuff. It's really cramped but there was only 2 other people there."
"I would like to see if you guys have some one picking up the cardboard for recycle if not let me know email me back to schedule a date and time for a pickup"
"They sell Costco returns and things that don't sell in Costco. Interesting place. Prices are not as cheap as you would think."
"Costless Brand Names (CBN) is a very interesting concept; they essentially buy up damaged, returned, out-of-season and unwanted products from Costco and resell them back to the public without the need for a Costco membership. The prices can range from just a few dollars off normal Costco prices to almost half-off. CBN also sells a wide variety of things, and at first entry it seems like the place is completely unorganized. However, upon further inspection you begin to realize that there is a bit of a method to their madness. Here is a quick tour: Food- They have a pretty meager selection of food that ranges from cereal and protein bars to BBQ Sauce and some out-of-season holiday products. Clothes- They have a tremendous selection of clothes that takes up the entire middle of the warehouse. From what I've seen the prices are actually quite good, but there's just so much to look through and take in that it can get a bit overwhelming. They also (much like Costco) have no fitting room so you take a chance buying clothes. TV- CBN has a decent selection of open-box and in-box HDTVs to choose from. I'm not in the market for one, but I did price check a few with Amazon and the savings ranged from $50-150 off; pretty good, but nothing great. The guy working there also claims that they're all still under manufacturer's warranty. Home Decor- They basically have a lot of Costco's more gauche items that didn't sell very well and still aren't selling well here despite the discount. There's been a few things I've seen all three times I've gone in there, and we're talking several months worth of trips. Kitchen- Pretty unimpressive selection of kitchenwares; they have a small variety ranging from knife sets to small appliances. Household products- Large assortment to choose from here including tissue boxes; dog and cat food; laundry and dishwasher detergents; and hand soap. This stuff is always changing so if you see something good grab it. CBN's stock is always rotating around, so you probably have to come in regularly to find anything worthwhile. Unfortunately, I have yet to find much. Despite having a sound concept the whole thing just misses the mark for me. I've tried to give them a fair chance by going back three different times to see if the stock/selection changed but it's just a complete "Meh". I will probably continue to check-in, on occasion, only because it's so close to my office and -I will admit- it's a good way to kill twenty minutes at the end of the day--if I'm actually running early. Who knows, maybe one day I'll find a really sweet deal and change my mind. Until then it's a solid 2.5-stars from me. I really can't recommend anyone coming in, unless you just happen to be in the area and are looking to kill some time."
"I found that the place has a ton of stuff crammed all over the place, so much so that it is very difficult for one to find what he wants. The price is set much higher than the other store at Hayward. I estimated that there is a 30% discount compared to regular Costco price, which is too little for bargain hunters to rummage through the stuff. I end up not buying anything from this store."
