"I have nothing but spectacular things to say about this place. My meal was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. First thing you will notice when you get to this restaurant is a welcoming smile from every employee along an unmatched example of perfect customer service. The calamari was prepared with perfection. The Garlic noodles had a perfect balance of spice, sauce, and zest. My personal favorite is the steak kebat, unfortunately I tore that up before I could snag a picture haha. The bartenders were lively and knowledgeable. They were attentive and friendly. You could tell they took their craft seriously. Kudos Burma Superstar."

"Fan favorite and probably makes most must visit SF eateries lists. Also a unique thing about SF that it has great Burmese food (of course this is within united states as the qualifier). Must try their green leaf salad but can't go wrong with any option on their menu."

"Came here back in June, and this was my first time trying Burmese food. We wanted to order a bit of everything so we ordered the Ban Gyi Dok, chili lamb, the catfish curry, coconut rice and a milk tea. For two people, our order came out to a total of $102, with tip, which is a bit pricey but we had leftovers so that made me feel better :0) Burmese flavor is not one that I am used to, but it was quite delicious. Our waiter was super attentive and The location was perfect to hang out and have conversation. I’ll absolutely come back to explore more items."

"Not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite and one of the best restaurants in the entire Bay Area. The menu has a number of unique and delicious plates: from lamb and beef options, to chicken and seafood, they have something for everyone and it never disappoints. My favorite things to order are the tea leaf salad, coconut rice, chili beef, walnut shrimp, and sesame chicken. I don’t drink alcohol so for the drinks, ginger lemonade, and mango lassi are my go to and occasionally the jackfruit sprite. If you’re in the Bay Area or just visiting, you have to try this place. Be sure to join the Yelp waitlist ahead of time if you can and don’t leave valuables in your car! There are a bunch of break-ins so be careful."

"Hi. I'm a Burmese, and I grew up in the old country for 13 years. This is good food but 3... to 4 stars if we're being generous in rating for authenticity. What is up with that sauce on the fried tofu?? I know ethnic restaurants must change traditional foods to appeal to the wider market in the U.S. but it was just way off. I had no choice but to eat it because they poured that sauce right on the tofu pieces. No choice was even offered to have that sauce or not. I still have nightmares about it. I gave it 4 stars because the food in general was pretty good as a meal. As a vaguely Burmese meal. It would be more fitting to say "A hint of Burmese". Is it faithful to Burmese cuisine? No, it does not. Would the modified flavour profiles sell well in western market? Yes. Get that bag I guess? But if people who love this place get a chance to ever visit Burma if the country ever opens up again, they might be very confused ordering the same dishes in Burma and how different they really are to Burma Superstar presents them as Burmese food."
