"I spent 8 weeks at this place. Don't send your loved ones here. There were maybe 4 good people working here, if they all had the same day off lord help you. It took an hour and a half one time just for a drink of water. I was in the shower one time and all my belongings had been gone through, things were missing, including my house keys. I had brought a blanket with me, my name was written all over it, I told them not to wash it for fear of them losing it. Again, they took it when I was in the shower. It took over 3 weeks to find it and I believe it was only because I constantly complained. The food was awful and rarely what was on the menu. The kitchen couldn't pull it together, ie iced tea, no ice, served room temperature. I constantly was fighting with one nurse in particular. It wasn't until I spoke to the doctor and he was reprimanded that things improved with him, but not much. Tested negative for COVID-19 when I got there, 3 weeks later, while in isolation, I tested positive. I'm sure it was the crazy old lady that wandered around as she pleased. There's more, but I already shared more than I planned. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!!!!!"
"A couple of years ago, I spent a week in another Hemet Convalescent Hospital and it was not a good experience. In comparison, the Devonshire Care Center was a very pleasant experience. After a hip replacement, they kept my pain tolerable, They listened to my concerns and took action when necessary. Most of the nursing staff was friendly, caring, helpful, and took good care of me and those patients in the room with me. Two nurses in particular went out of their way to make sure I was having a good day and that my needs (both physical and emotional) were met. I'd like to thank M. Cuevas and K. Garcia for making me feel safe and cared for, although there were many other nurses and CNAs that were excellent too. The food was not bad, much better than at the Hemet Valley Hospital. The therapy staff was also excellent and while they gave me exercises and encouraged me to progress, they did not push me to the point of pain or exhaustion. Devonshire's staff made my stay comfortable and I recovered quickly so that I could go home after 5 days."
"I would reconsider being anywhere BUT in this place....Things tend to be lost (taken/stolen in my opinion) by staff that has no accountability by management. They require you signing an inventory sheet when coming in BUT THEIR ORIGINAL SHEET is lost/misplaced when you tell them that your stuff is missing and now require you proof. AND their storage place is a small closet with everyone's belongings bagged in trash bags, luggage if you brought one, and carton boxes on floor/shelves with cleaning supplies kept there too. So don't have valuable basically or say good bye!"
"Some of the CNA's were rude and did not want to help or answer the nurses buzzer. I was called fat, very fat and a bed wetter. When certain CNA's answered the nurses button they would answer very rude "what do you want"? And that is if they even answered which sometimes would take an hour. They would only change the blankets but would leave me in wet sheets and a wet bed. The place had horrible food. Loud music and staff partying at night would keep me awake. But I also wanted to mention that there were a few CNA's and nurses who were very nice and caring. One was a CNA named Sandy who I wouldn't have made it in there without. She's excellent. The nurses were very nice but we didn't see them too often. Mostly the CNA's were who we saw. Nurses Christine and Ron were very caring and nice. Over all from a 1-5 rating I would give it a 2. If it weren't for the few nice staff I have mentioned I would have given it a 1."
