"We came here for the first time on a Saturday night, and they weren’t too busy. The service and food started off strong but didn’t end the best. For starters, the restaurant and ambiance is BEAUTIFUL! I was surprised by that. However, the service is very very slow and food is good to mediocre. We ordered both appetizers to start and the scallops were the highlight of the meal - amazing! We also got the big fried fish which was quite dry. They brought sauce in the side but didn’t tell us we would be charged for it lol but no worries, the food was decent but nothing to brag about. The alcoholic drinks, as others have noted, are for some reason very diluted for the price ($15-20). We finished with dessert which is also small for the price- $14 for a cake big enough for two bites. The worst part was waiting for the check as we sat there for 20 minutes or so with finished food in front of us while we waited for the server. Ultimately, we probably won’t be back. But it was an interesting experience. The restaurant has to work on service if they want to last"
"Bocado is a new addition to the neighborhood. This is a great destination any time of the day. The food is fresh and delicious and the beer is ice cold. The atmosphere is energetic with windows that open for a cafe feeling and amazing wall size TVs. Great for viewing sports and world travel destinations. The whole fish is enough for two, the empanadas are a delicious. I had the Shrimp with purple potatoes today. The shrimp is tender and generous. The spicy red hot sauce is a family recipe - my favorite. Sit at the bar to enjoy to ambiance & TVs. Check it out for yourself."
"One of the best Peruvian restaurants in the city! Would highly recommend the Ceviche Sampler to start, Tiradito Salmon Jalapeno, and any of the 'causas,' which are skewers. They have a great cocktail menu too. Could not recommend this place more."
"TL;DR Food was good but was not worth the extremely long wait. I hope the owners will solve this kitchen staffing issue. This was a Sunday night and the server let us know there was only one person in the kitchen to make food for the 9 tables seated that night (around half full). We ordered an appetizer and two mains. It took almost an hour for us to get all of our food. Our server was super nice about it and came to apologize several times but at the end of the day, we waited a long time and so did everyone else at the restaurant. Our server offered a dessert on the house at the end of the meal (after another compulsory wait). Looking at the other tables around the restaurant, everyone was waiting on mains for a long time. Some tables got one person's main, while the other person's took ~20 mins longer. The food was quite good. The Shrimp Causa was delicious and plated beautifully. The Lomo Saltado was full of flavor and the beef was cooked to a medium rare. The Tallarin Saltado was similar but we preferred the textural differences you get in the Lomo Saltado. We were also told that the 15% off discount advertised on Yelp was no longer valid but they choose to keep the post up on this restaurant page. This seems like some shady buisness practices. Timeline: 5:59: Ordered two mains and an appetizer 6:04: Got our appetizer, a shirmp causa 6:52: Got our mains 7:36: Got the dessert We would totally come back for the food, if they can fix the service times. Thanks to our server for looking after us and keeping us in the loop. Maybe I'll order from delivery apps next time."
"We caught this restaurant a couple of days after it opened, so it was a bit quiet, but the vibe was relaxed, and the music was chill. I am a picky eater, and I wouldn't describe myself as adventurous, but the food was solid. Everyone at my table enjoyed what they had. The Ultimate Margarita was smooth, too (shown). Since the restaurant had just opened, we were able to meet the chef, who was genuine and friendly. He apparently has been working at several top restaurant in the area before opening this place, and it shows in the food."
