"I got cancelled my class the same day. They overbooked. They only told me the same day in the late afternoon for an evening class. They did not take accountability. Very unprofessionals from the very get go. Not sure how someone would trust them if they can’t even attend to the class they book you on."

"I have been taking lessons here for more than 4y. At first I really enjoyed it, but recently I've had very negative experience. The staff were really friendly and it was a perfect place for beginners. During the pandemic, unfortunately they had a lot of staff turnover and change of location. Even that, I was still taking lessons (many virtual lessons with the same price), and tried to accommodate the change and support the studio. This year, I have not been able to take lessons because none of the staff is able to teach on Saturdays; therefore I requested a refund for my prepaid lessons. It has been 2 months with tens of emails, and I am deeply disappointed with their lack of responsiveness."

"I took private dance lessons at the old location (on Divis) for about 6 months with several different instructors. I had 0 prior dance experience. I focussed almost entirely on leading salsa dance. Good: the instructors and community of dancers was nothing but welcoming, supportive and enthusiastic. I made friends here even as a nervous beginner. After my lessons I felt competent to lead salsa in a club. Could be improved: after trying 3 other dance schools in SF, I can say I feel Arthur Murray’s approach is focussed on teaching you specific moves, rather than teaching you to dance/flow/understand the fundamentals. The curriculum for lessons explicitly states moves you should know to move between levels (bronze/silver etc). This approach did not work for me, I felt I had to choose each move from a memorized list as I danced, and my basic step and connection skills never progressed here. I felt that the staff leaned heavily on upselling relatively expensive packages or dance parties. I felt it was hard to focus on salsa; the school tried many times to introduce other styles of dance which weren’t of interest to me. I would recommend seeking another place to learn."

"They've moved their location but haven't updated it on their own website, Google Maps, or Yelp. We signed up for a complimentary class and when we got there, the current tenants of 321 Divisadero let us know that the studio hasn't occupied this location for about a year. When we called their number, they told us to come to some address in Polk Gulch, and when we asked if we could still take the class, they said they'd have the instructor call us back (we never got a call back). Complete waste of time"
