Reviews of Fair Hills Farms
"Amazing lessons!!!"
"Where to begin...I lasted 2 months here. In that time my horse was fed moldy hay and hay infested with foxtails. One horse got one stuck in its throat and had a $10k hospital bill. Not to mention all the others who coliced. When management (Michelle and Terry) were confronted they refuted anything was wrong with the hay. When asked if boarders could ban together and buy their own hay (lots of things here are done by boarders when they should be done by management) we were told there was no where to keep it. When in reality, there was plenty of room in their large hay storage area. They also said it was going to be too hard for the guys. These guys load the hay onto a tractor and drive it around throwing the hay off it. Not sure whats hard about that. I should mention when smiling and waving at the guys and thanking them for the bare minimum work they do (only scooping poop 6 days a week)--you are often met with a blank stare and not because they don't understand you. When management was asked if we could store hay next to our horses that was again refuted. This time they said the guys "might" feed it. Come winter we asked to bring horses into stalls so they wouldn't trip and slip in the mud, we were again refused. We were also made to feel like we were insane snowflakes for caring that much about our horses. A barn just down the road brings all horses in at the slightest rain because they know how slippery things get around here. If you want any improvement done to where your horse is living (most need it) they make you hire a licensed contractor, pay for all the improvements and then make you agree to leave it permanently after you leave. Or you can have the guys maybe get around to it and still pay and leave it. I know people who have put thousands of dollars into their horses stalls and pastures---INSANITY. Let us also not forget that the barn manager smokes on premises--who in their right mind smokes at a barn and one in high fire danger? Oh, and if there is a fire..your s*** out of luck. They won't give you updates. They won't evac your horse for you or help you in any way. And they will again treat you like a snowflake for evacuating your horse. If all of this isn't enough for you---then just know the owner of the property has saddlebreds that don't leave their dark stalls and constantly have chains on their feet--and they are proud of that. Do yourself a favor and stay far away."
"It has been many many years since I boarded two horses at this facility, I don’t know if it is still owned by the same people. At the time the trainer was a fellow named Derek Repp and he destroyed a beautiful appendix quarter horse that I boarded there due to his arrogance, pigheadedness & stupidity. She was a fast powerful horse she held her head high after having played polo I asked him to make sure she was exercised every day he put her in a bullpen in an incredibly restrictive harness because he wanted her to set her head like a Showhorse. She left her unattended she flipped over and cracked or withers was never rideable again and was in pain for the rest of her life. The owners took no responsibility, Mr. Repp took no responsibility. They destroyed a beautiful horse. I hope they read this review because I want them to know that though many years have passedI have never forgotten what did But what goes around comes around and at some point they will be held accountable."
"I had a few horseback riding lessons given to me as a gift and it was a lot of fun! The instructors make the experience seamless and comfortable for both the rider and their horse."
"Beautiful place to ride and very relaxing. Highly recommend a lesson too! Susan is teaching my 12 yo niece who is having a self-awareness personal growth lesson PLUS learning hands-on horse training. It appears their stables are clean, feed and cared for. Horses must love it there."
