"My shoulder was in rough shape when I first came to see Dr. Naomi Johnson. Playing hockey competitively and sustaining the injury early in the season, going on the injured reserve list could mean losing a roster spot so that was not an option. I had to play through the injury despite the pain, bad mobility, and limited strength that would likely put me at odds arm wrestling a feeble mouse. I tried ice, heat, stretching, and abstaining from certain shoulder and chest pressing exercises and nothing helped. Amazingly from the first session I had relief. Naomi intently listened to my answers and feedback during the evaluation process, and was laser focused on getting me right. At Pro+Kinetix, you get to work with the expert the whole time. Naomi is focused, efficient, and clearly cares about making you feel better and keeps you accountable for doing the work during and in between sessions. She is easy to work with, positive, and very knowledgeable. We put together a program for 10 weeks and I am halfway through and I have made drastic improvements from where I started. I was skeptical of the potential PT could provide, and am now a believer! Do yourself a favor, if you are here reading this, you are considering giving it a shot--as one of the biggest skeptics around, I can honestly say you are in good hands, Naomi has the personality and knowledge to make your healing journey not only effective and expeditious, but fun and enjoyable! Doesn't get better than that folks!"
"I have had the absolute best experience at Pro+Kinetix!! Dr. Nima and Dr. Naomi are absolutely phenomenal and so incredibly kind! I started coming here after I re-injured my knee, and was new to San Diego so I wasn’t sure where to go for help. Dr. Nima welcomed me to the facility with open arms and encouraged thoughtful conversations to help me towards my healing and goals. He has also continued to check in with me to see how things are going with my knee and see how i’m doing on my goals, which is greatly appreciated. Dr. Nima as well as Dr. Naomi are incredible at what they do and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking into physical therapy!"
"I had such a wonderful experience at Pro+Kinetix. Dr. Naomi is so knowledgeable about human anatomy and truly loves what she does. I instantly felt so comfortable and taken care of. I’ve been to physical therapy before and would only work with an aid and not an actual PT for most of the session. At Pro+Kinetix you actually work with a PT for the entire session and you have access to many different healing modalities (not just ice and STEM/TENS). I also love that it isn’t just the average PT office. There is a full gym so as you progress you can incorporate lifting and and movements you would do in a gym. Such a game changer. Definitely recommend for athletes, anyone trying to improve their form or injury recovery. Ladies… Dr. Naomi’s knowledge about the pelvic floor is top notch. Such a fun topic to dive into."
"SUCCESS STORY: I’d been having ongoing, undiagnosed ankle issues for about 6 months leading up to my first visit at Pro+Kinetix. To be honest, I was hesitant to commit given that I have access to care provided by the military. However, after the initial assessment with the BEST, Dr. Kristina Koroyan, I was confident that she would guide me in the right direction towards regaining full function in my ankle. I opted for a 6-visit bundle, once a week, 1 hour per session, timed accordingly with the IRONMAN 70.3 I had previously signed up for. I cannot express how lucky I am to have been assigned Dr. Koroyan. Not only did she display exceptional care, expertise, and professionalism, Dr. Koroyan managed to treat my undiagnosed ankle injury through a personalized, yet comprehensive approach tailored to my specific athletic goals. The rehabilitation process was both physically and mentally challenging. Not being able to participate in certain physical activities affected my mood and truly took a toll on how I felt each day. No running, biking, basketball, tennis, surfing. Even walking caused an ache so aggravating that all I wanted to do was lay in bed, but Dr. Koroyan and Naomi, whom I met midway through my sessions, did not let me do that. They kept me motivated and optimistic, and both offered valuable insights into preventive measures and at-home exercises that played a crucial role in my overall progress. Days before my race, I received the results of my MRI, which I am willingly open to share. IMPRESSION: * 7 x 17 mm osteochondral defect lateral talus dome. A body resembling an osteochondral fragment is in the flexor hallucis longus tendon sheath. * Small minimally displaced articular fracture of the anterior tibia at the tibiotalar joint with underlying cartilage injury. * Anterior talofibular ligament, calcaneofibular ligament and deltoid ligament sprains. * Flexor digitorum longus and flexor hallucis longus tenosynovitis. * 15 mm ossific fragment in the tarsal tunnel. Correlate with symptoms of tarsal tunnel syndrome. Essentially, there are suspected bone fragments in my ankle joint from a sprain 6 months ago that have been causing irritation, swelling, and lack of mobility/strength. Though my ankle was feeling better, after reading the report, I started having cold feet and doubted my ability to complete, let alone participate in the Half Ironman. Dr. Koroyan took the time to review the report with me to help me better understand what my injuries were and some risks that may arise. Of course, she expressed that it is best to see an Orthopedic specialist since they would have access to my full report, but her dedication and guidance beyond the clinic showed that she truly cared. Fast forward to today, my last session with Dr. Koroyan and Naomi. I mean it when I say, THANKS TO THEM, I achieved a personal milestone by crossing the IRONMAN 70.3 finish line PAIN-FREE. A rollercoaster of emotions for me, turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I look forward to future sessions with the team in working to complete the next goal, FULL IRONMAN."
"I signed up for a half marathon a year ago and was not able to participate due to extreme knee pain I was experiencing. I didn't want to give up on myself so I decided to see if physical therapy might help my issue. Dr. Nima fully evaluated my issue, my running style, and made a plan to improve my hip strength. After 3 weeks, I was back to running with minimized pain! Turns out I didn't know how to run correctly and my leg strength needed a ton of help. The gym is top notch and Dr. Nima pays close attention to your concerns and wants to fix the pain from the source. Highly recommend for other runners out there, you can run pain free too!"
