"I have had nothing but positive experiences here at the Summit Vet. My initial experience here occurred during the pandemic when I had a very sick dog. At the time I was still driving all the way up to my old vet in Los Altos. After a long drive and negative experience there, I became determined to find a vet who could help my dog. That’s when I called Summit Veterinary. The receptionist worked with me to have my dog seen that very afternoon. When I got there Dr. Parvizi explained to me what was going on with my dog and we did some further testing due to her advanced age. He got my dog on the road to recovery and has given me several more years to enjoy her. I was so impressed that I now take all my pets to the Summit vet and have nothing but good things to say the practice and can recommend them without reservation."

"Dr. Parvizi and staff have taken good care of our dog since Dr. Madden left. Yes, the fees for services have increased, but I'm sure with today's economy they are higher elsewhere. Our dog had 2 emergencies last year and I had confidence in the Dr's and staff each time."

"My experience with Summit Vet has been great. My regular vet is in Scotts Valley, but I often end up going to Summit Vet as well if they have an opening sooner than my vet for urgent-ish issues. They always do a very thorough examination, and present me with a treatment plan with all pricing outlined. I am able to go through each item line by line and decide what I want to approve. As with any vet, they put the “Here’s what I’d do right now if money was no object” list together, but they also clearly discuss what is absolutely necessary now vs what could be postponed, and what is completely optional. I find them very clear, straightforward, and professional."

"I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but I leave this one out of deep concern for the welfare of animals undergoing surgery or dental procedures here. I brought my 14 year old dog in for a dental consult as he needed a tooth removed. I was told he would most likely die under anesthesia during the procedure. Following that I reached out to a canine dental specialist in Aptos who was horrified at the idea a clinic would be so incompetent with anesthesia as to have risk of death during an extraction, even for a molar (which this was). I also consulted with Santa Cruz Veterinary hospital, where the vet there shared the same sentiment- anesthesia is never no risk, but certainly not a high risk in my otherwise very healthy dog. He underwent his tooth extraction at Santa Cruz veterinary without any issue. If summit vet’s feeling was the tooth was a very high risk procedure… I can only wonder how many pets die under anesthesia at summit vet during procedures like this? Not to mention the vet was cold and rude to me throughout the entire exam. All around very bad and scary experience. Please take your pet elsewhere if they must go under anesthesia for a procedure."

"We contacted Summit vet this morning when our 10 week old kitten injured his front legs. They took us in immediately and Dr. Parvizi was thorough, gentle, informative and very reassuring that the kittens legs were sprained and not broken. He spent time with us explaining what to do and was very compassionate with the baby kitten. I have not been to Summit vet in several years but my experience today was excellent and I highly recommend them. He gave the kitten some pain medication and DIDN'T charge us for the examination!
