"Sarah was my therapist a few years ago. Of my many therapist she is by far the best! She used what I believe she called a metaphorical therapeutic analogy. I probably remember the name incorrectly :) She asked me to choose a place that was the most peaceful in my life. I chose Monterey Bay's big blue Aquarium with the orange jellyfish. She then said, because I was a sports enthusiast, that she wanted me to hold several balls down with me ... basketball, volleyball, soccer ball Etc. And then she asked me, " what happens if you let them go"... And of course I envisioned them as floating upwards and floating away. These balls represented my issues and things I was holding on to which were keeping me from progressing. I never forgot that even though it was years ago. A simply brilliant analogy.
