Community Counseling Center (CCC)

"Absolutely useless, what a complete waste of time & money. Square one again. Now that they've replied, I'll add this - they denied me based off of (incorrect) assumptions. No effort was made to alleviate or correct those (incorrect) assumptions, just a generic list of other providers was given so they could deny me service. No corrective action, deny first & come up with "reasons" later. I had a bad feeling after my intake this was going to be the case. Avoid these people, they'll just add to your anxiety/depression. Unless you have money, maybe they'll help you then."

"I completed my practicum at the CCC (as well as some of my hours for my associate license) and I found the CCC to be an incredibly supportive environment for clinicians. My supervisor was knowledgeable, kind, and worked with me to ensure my professional goals were met. I look back fondly to my time at the CCC and would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for affordable short-term therapy. I would also recommend this clinic to MFT trainees looking for a supportive practicum environment. This is a solid mental health clinic and I am proud that my community has access to these mental health resources"

"I just recently left this organization as an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist gaining hours of experience for training. While there are quality individuals here and the facilities are nice and comfortable, clinical management struggles with rigid roles left over from the medical model in training new therapists. Example: I asked to be aligned with a strength based supervisor that could support my growth but was rejected and given an evaluation with close to a hundred check boxes that left me stifled and concerned. My suggestion: survey every trainee and associate and find out if they prefer a rigid medical model approach or a more evolved collaborative approach to training. There's probably no surprise what they might uncover..."

"I've been to Community Counseling a few times and they are usually great. However, I recently needed their services and went in for an intake interview. After waiting for a half hour I was informed that the person who was supposed to conduct it didn't show up that day. I had to wait a week so they could get me in again. After the intake they told me it would be 1-2 weeks to be placed with a counselor. It's going on week 7 now and I still haven't been assigned anyone. Not a good way to deal with people who need help."

"This agency may appear to be concerned for the genreral public, but in the end, as with any business, thier primary concern is themselves. They aren’t afraid to discriminate or stereotype certain populations in an attempt maintain and protect their idea of maintstream popularity."
