"My husband came home one day in July and said let's do Krav Maga they are opening a new location right up the street. I was a bit uncertain at first as I had never done martial arts before. I just started a new job in Los Angeles and thought why not, it would be good to learn how to protect myself, get into better shape and spend time with my husband all at once. After my first class with Ericka I was sold. She is not only a great teacher but a great person. She embodies all the principles of the black belt. She has earned a student level second-degree black belt and an instructor level black belt certification (she is currently 1 of only 12 women worldwide to have achieved this level of Krav Maga certification). Simply put, she knows what she is doing. To tell you the truth I don't know if I would have signed up right away if Ericka wasn't the instructor. She makes the environment very friendly and comfortable, she pushes you hard to your maximum, she teaches in a way that is easy to follow and it is evident she actually cares about her students. At the end of each class she hosts a conversation with all the students about the monthly powerful word. Not only is this class good for you physically, but also mentally. The discussion at the end with the powerful word makes you think about how you are as a person and how you can be better.
