"Addendum 12/10/2022 - Google said people actually read this. Update - our kids are STILL going to Black Belt Academy. Master Rhee - survived corona. My kids - kicking each other with body armor now. And my addition to my parenting arsenal - "Do you want me to tell Master Rhee what you did?!" His program is strong, he teaches self confidence, he helps keep kids in line in a non negative way. If you want a classic stereotypical TKD school, please don't come here - he is getting busy (yay). If your kid needs to get used to loud sounds (HA! Punch), if they need that sensation of flipping over a foam board, if they need to feel that jolt of a kick and not freak out, if they need a TKD teacher that supports them as a dad would, this hole in the wall thank the good lord we found him teacher may be good for you. Corona sucked - and we still did the zoom TKD with Master Rhee during that year of social distance craziness (no politics here). This review is from an unpaid (actually paying) customer that wishes all the best for Black Belt Academy. Following is my first review: Wonderful Tae Kwon Do school. Instills values, teaches differences between Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Martial Arts, Kung Fu to the kids. This is not the most strict and traditional Tae Kwon Do program. Master Rhee makes it very educational, fun, disciplined, and is over the top supportive for the kids that need it. We needed Tae Kwon Do to help create confidence in our kids. Black Belt Academy in Laguna Hills achieves just that. Many thanks."

"My son has been coming here since he was in kindergarten. The instructor works well with kids. He is calm and really focuses on making the instruction fun and yet disciplined enough for the kids to listen. As they get older, he begins to challenge them more and their focus improves greatly. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to integrate the love of martial arts to your kids. Not as a competition sport but more of a lifestyle and integrating it into your life.
