Reviews of NOVA Swim School
"Recommended by a coworker-friend whose daughter learmed to swim well within a few months. Our son thrived at NOVA. Maximum 4 students, and he got the one on one attention to correct his arm movements and kicks. We continue to pay for lessons because our son enjoys swimming now."
"We tried this swim school two years in a row and were never super impressed. They are pricey, which would be fine if there was consistency and clear communication. Our instructor changed regularly, the lesson location changed regularly, one of the pools is freezing in the afternoon, the techniques varied between instructors, they cancelled last minute. Our last month of lessons were cancelled and I called several times since we had never received a refund. It's been 7 or 8 months and still no refund. A couple of the instructors were awesome but with the lack of consistency it's not worth it."
"Both of my kids learned water safety and how to swim here within a few months. The instructors are extremely patient. Ms. Tabitha(She’s amazing) started with them and now they are in a group class and they enjoy it very much. Thank you Nova for teaching our kids how to swim and save many lives. Best investment for our kids."
"10 years ago my older two children went through nova and it was an average every day swim school. They Learned water safety and could swim comfortably and that’s what I wanted. We returned last week and my youngest daughter did eight private lessons. We had six different instructors, which was fine, all but one were great. I started each class by communicating what she had done with the instructor the day before and what she needs to work on. They were receptive. However very few of them gave me feedback at the end of the class. My biggest disappointment is that not a single one of her classes lasted for the 15 minutes that I paid for. They all averaged about 13 minutes. I did bring it to the attention of the office personnel and she was given an additional private without charge. That was her 3rd class in and nothing changed after that and I didn’t have the energy to complain again. I would give nova three stars this time around but I am giving them two stars secondary to los Cabelleros in general. They don’t wipe down chairs and the chairs were dirty with dry food on them. Every time I went, even if we were the first class of the day, there were Band-Aids floating around or water bottles or chips on the floor, it has gone down hill in the past 10 years. Additionally they have a free swim area in the pool that is roped off. I’m assuming it’s for kids to warm up and cool down in before an after class. Nobody supervises them, they are running and jumping and yelling and spitting. I understand the parents need to step up, but the staff at nova need to take charge before someone gets hurt. My daughter wants to continue lessons but I feel like I haven’t gotten what I paid for."
"First please understand that I do not work for, and am unaffiliated with them, so here goes... I have been a competitive swimmer for 50 years. I have had the opportunity to watch all of the Nova instructors, management, and competition coaches for the past 5 - 10 years, if you want your children to be safe in and around water this is the best place to go. You may not like to hear them cry about saving themselves but they are not fish either. They will learn how to be safe in and around water. And you'll have peace of mind that goes with it. If you want your child to be a competitive swimmer or water polo player as they get older, this is the place to start. Without any doubt, the Novas are one of the best, if not the best program in the country."
