"After many years of trying different sports, from basketball, to tennis, and even a few years of club soccer, my son never really found his passion until we stumbled upon fencing at OCFC. Given its proximity to our home, we decided to give it a shot, and we’re happy we did. My son fell in love with fencing from Day 1 and never looked back. He’s excited to go to practices and tournaments and has made a lot of new friends. His joy for fencing is all due to the culture and atmosphere at OCFC. Being new to the sport, we were clueless about fencing, but Simon, the club owner, has always been helpful and patiently answered hundreds of questions. He walked us through everything and keeps us informed on a regular basis. He creates a welcoming, family friendly environment, and even goes out of his way to host Christmas parties and BBQs at the club. It’s been great getting to know the other families as well; whether new or seasoned, it’s obvious that everyone’s proud to be a part of this club. I also can’t say enough about Coach Gabor and Coach Kostas. They are amazing coaches who have coached around the world, and we are lucky to have them at OCFC. They have the right balance of having fun and encouraging the fencers, while pushing them to excel and helping them reach their full potential. You can tell that they are vested in every one of their students. If you want your child to try a new sport that’s fun and competitive, then give fencing at try at OCFC."

"We are not new to sport events as my son's been playing basketball for almost 4 years, been in a couple basketball clubs. However, fencing is new to my family. We drive by this location often and spot a new fencing club opened. We loved the atmosphere of OCFC as we walked in the first time. The fencers were so welcoming to my boy and seemed having so much fun in their everyday practice. After the first tryout, my boy wanted to go back and fence more. Now that my boy has been fencing for 6 months with the club. I can't say enough how grateful we feel to have my boy started his fencing journey in OCFC. Simon, the owner of the club, has been so helpful, so informative to someone who doesn't know anything about fencing. Without his help, we won't be able to compete in tournaments. He runs this club as his family and you can tell everyone in the club is being here on his/her own will. OCFC has the world class coaching team!! Coach Gabor and coach Kostas are the best coaches you can asked for. My boy has been under coach Kostas. He doesn't only learn how to fence but also learning how to become a respectful athlete. The families and the kids in the club are also amusing. These people are funny, friendly and always willing share with you. This club is like a big family itself. I can't recommend enough of OCFC. In the last 6 months, I have seen many joined the club and I am happy to it grows. New faces are having their sweat and smiles on their face and it's a blast to see everyone in the club is working hard and having fun. The best fencing club in OC, if not in the US. Love OCFC!"

"My son came back fencing last August with coach Gábor and OCFC. We were not sure if my son can stay in such competitive sport after two years break. Now, we are so glad that we made the right decision. Coach Gàbor, coach Kostas and OCFC management are such great people dedicating not only to fencing with high and low, but also a community to care and support each other to achieve their dreams. "We live in San Diego and my daughter trains at Team Touche Fencing Center in San Diego. However, sometimes on weekends, we drive up to Orange County Fencing Center to spar with OCFC fencers. In order to qualify my review, I should say that we are very serious about fencing: my daughter is 16, and this season, she has represented the US at international fencing competitions (World Cups. Grand Prix) on both Senior and Junior USA National Teams and in March'19 she has also won the title of the 2019 US National Champion in Women's Foil in the cadet and Junior categories. That said, I am so glad that Coach Gabor and Coach Kostas are now running such an excellent club at a somewhat driving distance from us and we can visit there sometimes on weekends to practice with their students. We have known both Gabor and Kostas for years and they are great people and highly qualified world-class fencing coaches. Gabor has been in the United States for a while and he brings international-level fencing and coaching expertise from Hungary - one of the strongest European fencing schools. We also know Kostas from a while back, when he brought his boys and girls from the German Junior National Team for a fencing camp at one of the Los Angeles-area clubs. We attended that camp also. Later on, in 2018 we saw Kostas in London at a Junior Foil World Cup where he came as the Head coach for the German Junior Foil Team. He is also one of the top FIE referees (Federation Internationale d'Escrime - International Fencing Federation). I am so glad that a fencing specialist of that caliber moved to the United States and is now at a club within a somewhat reasonable weekend-driving distance from us. So if you are thinking of taking up fencing yourself or for your child, and the location of OCFC works for you, it is lucky that two of the top-world-class fencing coaches are now running a club right there in Orange County."
