"I could not have been more excited to see this gem pop up in our neighborhood. A very accomplished Sensei AND a traditional form of karate within a mile of our house! Although, we needed to wait until August of 2021 to get into the dojo due to COVID, there are already a fair amount of higher-belt students due to Sensei Joane's classes at a local elementary school campus during the pandemic. They are wonderful examples for both of our boys to look up to, and their dedication to continuously improve is infectious. The Competition Team is outstanding, and their level of proficiency and pride in their discipline is an exemplary sign of the instruction and passion from Sensei. From the first time we stepped into the dojo, we felt a sense of family that I remember back in the day when I was into martial arts. Everyone is very helpful, leads by example and wants to see their classmates make the improvements in both physical and mental control. Sensei Joane has even stepped in to address some of the behaviors we have been coaching to with our older son, and I only wish we had joined earlier. Such a big improvement in how he is controlling himself in the dojo and at school alike. I know their self confidence and pride in themselves is due to their hard work and focus in the dojo, and my wife and I could not be happier with their development.
