"My son had a very good experience with swimming classes in the last 3 years, but always hard to find a spot in a decent time slot"
"Swim teachers are friendly, but don't expect your kid to learn to swim here. They seem to change teachers every day so there isn't really any hope of progress"
"Such a waste of money. Don’t expect your kid to learn anything new here. They’ll just get water to play around. “Instructors” are useless, they work more like a life guard instead of instructors."
"So far so good. Not exemplary and not horrible. We had one class where the coaches changed and we spent most the time with Julie who always was disinterested and hands off. I was about to ask for a refund when the next class we got a better coach and my kids saw immediate improvement. We’re on week 7 and my kids are older ages 7 and 8 who had years at American swim academy with little progress. We’ve been in the pool more and more but really immersed them at the wave which has helped. The jury is still out on whether or not it’s really worth the cost, but for me... I have a baby to care for and nobody else to teach my kids to swim while I hold the baby. Even if the classes aren’t the best, they’re getting in the water and with a little guidance, they’re seeing improvement. The baby has had only one class so far which was useless. We’ll see how that goes. If you’re starting out with a young child, you might want to try happy fish which has good reviews or a couple great books on amazon for DIY teaching your kids. We’ve spent thousands on dollars on swim school and I think the money may have been better spent with a one on one coach or membership to a pool where mom or dad could teach them. I’m personally just hands tied with the baby. Best of luck. The wave is clean and the kids seem pretty happy. I haven’t had any trouble with late coaches or canceled classes. Once or twice I’ve seen coaches not show up and classes doubled. I’m not sure how they can legally watch so many in the water."
"For parents deciding whether you should bring your children to the wave for swim classes or another facility, let me save you some time and say to not waste your money or precious time coming here. This place is a joke. First off- it's EXPENSIVE and annoying to book. That should've been my first clue that they don't take customer service seriously. Secondly- they will randomly cancel a class and not tell you. Their instructors don't seem to actually show up. In the past few weeks, I've seen their staff scramble trying to figure out what to do with the extra 3-6 kids when it seems that someone didn't show for their shift. Once this happens, the instructor will essentially put your kids in the water and tell them to just go over whatever they learned last week. So essentially I paid $173+ my time for you to not teach my child anything. Awesome. Third- for the past 3 weeks they've started every class late - at least 5 minutes while they all chit chat poolside, just hanging out, getting paid for nothing. However, they don't ever end the class late and twice have ended early. $173 for a 15-20 minute useless class. Cool! Fourth - the front desk people are useless. We signed my daughter up for a class, they cancelled the entire class left a voicemail just saying we've cancelled the class. No question as to whether we'd like to switch to a different time, no reason why and when I called back they had other classes available. And refunds take over a month to receive when THEY cancel the class on you. Seriously.. skip this place and go to another swim center OR put your kid in karate right down the street. At least they're actually teaching them something there."
