"CALSMA is the evolution of More Than Medals Taekwondo. The school is run by Master Jun who has trained numerous students to be skilled and respectful martial artists with the right mindset. Some of these students have won state and national championships. The school teaches that medals are great, but what really matters is the training process, determination and the indomitable spirit of the athletes. CALSMA is the perfect gym for anyone to start their martial arts journey. Students' ages range from 4-50+. Master Jun and his instructors are patient and friendly. It's amazing how the master can command a room full of kids (and adults). The curriculum includes forms, kicking techniques and sparring. Nobody is forced to join tournaments, but it is encouraged. There is also a demonstration team that competes and performs at events. This specialized group is focused on teamwork and leadership. They execute acrobatics, choreographed fight sequences, advanced board breaks and synchronized forms. This group of kids is super fun to watch. They are also 3 time defending champs. My family has been training with Master Jun for about 7 years and it's still as enjoyable as the first day. Great community who supports each others kids."
