"RUN from this office as fast as you can, unless you're looking for an unplanned pregnancy, in which case this is definitely the place to go! The level of unprofessionalism and incompetency of the office staff is truly unparalleled. After being taken off my longtime oral bc pill, my former GYN recommended an IUD. Unfortunately, due to an insurance change I was unable continue seeing her and was referred here by the new GP. I scheduled an appointment immediately upon approval and the first was THREE months out for a new patient, despite my urgent situation (yay HMOs). When I finally saw the NP for the consult (who was pleasant enough, but contradicted what my former GYN told me about the bc and IUD), she told me should would order the device immediately and it would be ready in approximately 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks passed, I called on about 4 occasions until one of the staffers finally told me they only do orders once per month, and I would need to wait until the end of the month. Annoying, but by then it was almost the end of the month, so I continued to wait. TWO more months pass by and I finally get a message saying they are ready to order the device (IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN ORDERED AND YOU DIDN'T CARE TO MENTION THAT???) and asked if I was still interested. Because I know the new referral process would take longer at this point, I agreed and scheduled the appointment yet another two weeks later. Fast forward to that day of appointment, I get two missed calls (no messages) ONE HOUR before my scheduled appointment and when I called back they told me I need a new referral for the device. I asked for explanation and the rude woman told me I should have known my insurance wouldn't cover it. WHAT? After going in circles with her, I asked to speak with a manager, was hung up on, then called back and was transferred to someone in billing, Blanca, who was even more rude and condescending. I told her this was unacceptable and asked for an oral rx to be called in in the meantime, and for written confirmation of our conversation and the timing of the IUD order/insertion. Blanca said she would fax the confirmation immediately and call in the rx. Neither was done, but I did receive a fax 2 hours later of another patient's prescription, including all of the patient's personal and diagnostic information. I fully intend to report this office to HHS for gross negligence and HIPAA violation of patient confidentiality. Moral of the story, it is now SEVEN months off birth control, and no end in sight. Also, I know WAY too much information about the other patient."
