"Prepare to wait at least half an hour for a vaccine despite making an appointment!"
"I love the store manager Mary. She's super sweet. Very calm and chill. As I was exploring the beauty section I noticed even when she talks to her team associates you can tell she treats everyone really well. If I was to live nearby this location would be my go to spot."
"Scheduled vaccine for 9:30AM. I was only customer in pharmacy. 5 minutes early. During this period NO ONE came to the pharmacy or was waiting for a vaccine. At 9:50, the pharmacist finally comes out, brings me into the room. We exchange greetings, and then I ask him why he is so late. Well that was the wrong thing to ask, because I got a continuing lecture on everyone is busy, and Dr offices are always late. I tried to help him understand no one had been there and I was the only person waiting. This made no difference, he continued on his tirade, and then finally summarized it by threatening not to do the vaccine. Sure I probably added to his angst, but he was totally out of line. And yes I reported the whole incident to Walgreen's corporate as the store manager explained the pharmacy works totally as a separate unit."
"0 stars for the pharmacists. One cancelled my prescription after accusing & lecturing me on the phone for having an order she didn’t understand (2 refills of the same med but at different titrations for nighttime & daytime). Instead of calling my doctor to clarify, she cancelled the order!! I had to call my doctors office and they said they had never heard of a pharmacist cancelling an order with her “rationale.” When my husband went in store to pickup another prescription, she was demanding that an elderly woman check with her insurance because her medication was no longer approved. The woman was distraught because the medication was now $200+; instead of helping her, she told her to go check with insurance herself. No idea why she couldn’t do it as the Walgreen pharmacists on 2900 Main St do that for me all the time. When my husband went to pick up my order, she lied and said it wasn’t ready. Only when he pushed back and said literally 20 min ago, another tech had told him to come back and it would be ready, that she said she hadn’t filled it yet. So he had to wait another 30 min because we needed it that day. Unless you want to deal with pharmacists who will literally reject your life-saving meds & not do their jobs & make you wait unnecessarily while you’re in pain, reroute your prescriptions elsewhere."
"DO NOT COME TO THIS PHARMACY FOR PAIN MEDICATION! I'm 25, chronically ill, and grew up in the Bay Area, but now live in Oregon. Walgreens has never been my favorite pharmacy to deal with but I have NEVER had as horrible of an experience as I did at this walgreens. I was home visiting my family and volunteering at a summer camp for chronically ill kids. While home I had an unforseen medical issue, was cut open and hospitalized, then sent home on pain meds (in addition to all my regular meds, which I refilled at THIS Walgreens with the pharmacist having been rude about one of my controlled substance prescritptions, not recognizing that it was only written for 28 days and not 30). 5 days later I needed a refill of my pain meds, was seen by my surgeon and the script was sent here. This is where I made my first mistake. This pharmacist has something against pain medications, clearly. When I went in to refill, the pharmacist claimed the pain medication was counterindicated with one of my other medications, even though I had been on pain meds and this med numerous times (with absolutely no previous issues), and my doctors ORDERED both at the same time, very well knowing any risks and taking them on because I was CUT OPEN. Once I clarified this, he then changed his argument to say that the doctor didn't say what the medication was for and that I had to have the doctor call them and explain why. I was just in the area visiting and had never been to the hospital I went to before. I had no idea how to get in contact with the doctor that ordered the meds. This sent me into a panic as I tried to plead with the pharmacist and explain the situation. He was SO COLD, SO DISMISSIVE, SO PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE. I had NEVER been treated this way by any pharmacy staff (the medical assistant was also incredibly cold). Not once did they say they were sorry. Not once did they show any compassion for the situation. They treated me like a drug seeker, when I had been in the hsopotal with a serious infection just days before. I eventually was able to get in contact with the medical assistant of the doctor, and she said she would call them to figure this out, though she was very confused what the issue was. When the medical assistant called me later to update me, she said the pharmacist was incredibly MEAN to her and that he DIDN'T BELIEVE SHE WAS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT and made her call the doctor and get him on the line. He thought she was lying, that she wasn't actually a medical assistant. Like I had called someone to pretend to be a medical assistant? This whole thing took almost an hour and sent me into a severe panic attack, to which a very kind walgreens employee of the beauty section responded with an offer of water and emotional comfort. She shared her own experiences with chronic pain and being treated terribly when needing pain medication. She was my life saver this day. She is the ONLY good thing about that store. I will be moving all my prescriptions out of walgreens from now on. They will not get a cent more from me, not after the way they treated me, and I see they treat many others from the reviews on here. I do not recommend anyone on a controlled substance come here if they do not want to be judged and denied their meds."
