"It has been several years since my experience just like the previous poster. I too have been wanting to write this review for a long time but never took the time until now. After reading through some of the other reviews I feel less alone in my experience. It's unfortunate so many others have experienced something so similar. Dr. Sagayan was my OB for my first pregnancy. I have had 3 others since and learned a lot since then. Dr. Sagayan was stripping my membranes without my permission. Zero informed consent. She told me she was simply checking my cervix to be sure it was closed. I was pregnant with twins and really wanted a natural birth and to go into labor naturally. She kept telling me that wouldn't be possible and that I really needed to consider a C-section. My twin pregnancy was very easy with 0 complications. I went until 38.3. She had stripped my membranes without my permission under the guise that she was checking to see if my cervix was closed. I later learned that a cervix check is not supposed to be painful. I have also experienced that now. I ended up being induced because I was leaking fluid potentially from an unwelcomed membrane sweep that she was saying were simply cervix checks. She also failed to inform me that a cervix check is optional. She made it sound required after i asked her if I had to have one because it was so painful the first time. I had an extremely long induction. Delivered 1 twin naturally and the other via Cesarean. When I saw her for my postpartum exam she basically rubbed it in that I had to have both types of deliveries and that I got what I deserved. She was uncaring when I brought up nursing concerns, recovery from vaginal and cesarian concerns and baby blues. I absolutely do not recommend her. She is responsible for a lot of the birth and OB trauma I endured. I'm grateful to know that her type of care is not the norm and that there are many wonderful doctors and midwives out there. Please consider someone else when looking for a Doctor."
"The nurse that greeted was very friendly. I had anxiety from a prior IUD placement. She offered to be there and talk me through it. She came in, I explained my past history and my nervousness to her. (I was cut while my old doctor cut the string) Dr. Elena Sagayan seen me, She called in a different nurse to assist. Her nurse was cold, non caring, and just stared at what she was doing and my private area. I was tense. She inserted the IUD partially and then ripped it out claiming I moved. She talked at me for 3 minutes in a stern voice, scolding me, about how I can’t move and I need to do this and that so she can do this. She put the IUD back in the plastic to try again. She was going to insert it against, while continuing to scold me. I told her okay I understand to just do it in a scold voice back. She got it partially inserted again, then stopped, pulled it out and told me she can not complete the procedure, because I’m anxious, talking back, not cooperating and moving. I asked her to leave the room so I could get dressed because I was completely upset and crying at this point because of how she was talking to me and being non caring and just blaming me. She stood in front of me demanding to talk. It took me 3 times to tell her to leave the room for her to do so. After her and her nurse left the room, they were talking about me outside of the room, blocking my exit. I got dressed opened the door, and they demanded to speak to me. I had to move a medical try to get myself out. I am completely traumatized, hurt, have been having severe anxiety and nightmares since Wednesday. She never reached out, or tried to fix it."
"She showed up 45 min late to my appointment, then, she told me I was a new patient so for her to be on time is not possible. That’s one way to gain new patients... then I was telling her my symptoms for possible pregnancy or possible illness if not that and she looked and me like I was crazy and told me, they are all in my head even though I experienced them. She told me to come back in 6 months to a year when things are more of a concern and when I asked her why my symptoms are the way they are she told me she does not know why I am experiencing such symptoms and that it could be all in my head that makes me feel the way that I do.. then she told me to use an app to track the pre-ovulation cycles I showed her the app and asked her why the app states different information? She then tells me: “Actually don’t follow the app or your app is faulty but follow the app is your best bet or don’t if it is faulty but I don’t know why it does that. I have no answers.” Her bedside manner is horrible and she was not helpful at all. I found her rude, condescending and I will not go to her again. Horrible experience."
