"Dr. Shukla’s wisdom and compassion saved me from an emergency C-section and possibly, saved my daughter’s life. I can’t thank her and the Walnut Creek Káiser team enough. My baby’s heart rate was going down every time I pushed, possibly due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around her neck. We tried everything we could to avoid a C-section but nothing worked for hours. They prepared me for a C-section in the OR after going through a painful labor which was disheartening for me. Dr. Shukla’s experience was key to make the right call at the right time. She continued to try to save me from a surgery trying different strategies but the issue persisted for hours. Once in the OR, we continued to try natural delivery hoping the baby had moved and being ready for immediate surgery in case it was needed. And indeed, when we all were loosing hope, something changed inside my body allowing my baby to be delivered naturally and in perfect conditions.
