"After a very unprofessional experience with my admitting ob/gyn (may have been due to lack of sleep while being on called that night), thankfully Dr. Barrie and the wonderful L&D nurses ended up being the one to delivered our healthy baby girl. Not only was Dr. Barrie confident in her medical expertise, she was warm and welcoming in sharing her knowledge. She happily answered questions we had before, during, and after delivery. "She has decades of experience delivering babies in Fremont and came highly recommended online and from distant acquaintances, so it took me way too long to realize we were not a good patient-dr fit. Dr Barrie was my ob pre-pregnancy through delivery and similar to concern expressed in the negative reviews, she was dismissive of real issues and condescending. Regular visits were also extremely rushed with her charging throuh her medical opinions without much explanation and half-heartedly answering questions on the way to the door. I also did not appreciate how she administered drugs/treatment without my consent. Additionally she is dogged in her beliefs to the point of being impractical - her and Washington hospitals’ philosophy to not supplement and insist on breastfeeding despite very real barriers and conservative view of referrals for other speciality treatments. And if you ask for something out of her standard routine, she becomes snarky. Long story short, I’ve changed drs for my second to receive better, human to human care that has felt much more effective and personal."

She and her whole staff, put us at ease by answering any and all questions we had. She answers questions with empathy, in a way that’s easy to understand. At delivery, she’s encouraging and does everything possible to keep Mom and Baby at ease. Every nurse on her team are also the best qualified and very sweet."
