"I highly recommend you have Dr. Thompson as your doctor! I wish I would have known about him during my first pregnancy and delivery as well, but I'm extremely grateful I switched over to him and his concierge practice for my second pregnancy and delivery. I unfortunately experienced a rough pregnancy again for my second child, and it made such a difference to have Dr. Thompson as my doctor. He is so responsive, knowledgable, and compassionate towards your situation and needs. This was truly a phenomenal experience. I have complete trust and confidence in Dr. Thompson's abilities and felt so at ease under his care. I also loved that at every appointment I was able to have an ultrasound of our baby girl. During my pregnancy, I was extremely sick with nausea/vomiting, heartburn, and towards the end of my pregnancy somehow managed to pop quite a few of my left ribs out from a cough. Each time I needed something, I was able to reach Dr. Thompson right away instead of being on a phone triage for awhile and then hearing back at some point from a nurse (not my doctor directly). As Dr. Thompson's patient, I was able to immediately get the help I needed from him directly. I can't recommend Dr. Thompson enough!"

"Short version: If you are contemplating joining Dr. Thompson’s practice — just do it. Long version: I switched to Dr. Thompson’s concierge practice about half way through my pregnancy. We were looking for a provider who would be more responsive to our questions and take a more personalized approach to our care. With Dr. Thompson we got all of that and more. With Dr. Thompson you will have a super compassionate and knowledgeable provider who will really focus on getting to know you, your family and your needs. Yes, he is quick to respond. Yes, he takes his time at appointments (ultrasound at every appointment which to my knowledge is unheard of). But most importantly, he is really there for you come delivery day. When I was going into labor, I was able to reach Doctor Thompson right away (vs. being transferred from a nurse line to a random doctor assigned to be on phone duty). This makes a huge difference — because you immediately talk to a doctor who knows YOU, your medical history, and needs. When we headed to the hospital Dr. Thompson met us there quickly and had already given the nurses a heads up of our arrival. We were actually blown away. Dr. Thompson also checked in with us super frequently at the hospital — in the words of our doula — I’ve never seen a doctor around this much! Throughout labor/delivery, Dr. Thompson struck the perfect balance between listening/honoring our preferences but also offering his suggestions/advice based on his experience. It also really helped that we had established such a strong level of mutual trust. When we delivered our first child — we happened to be assigned a great obgyn who was on call that evening — but I would never want to take that chance again! Although our number one goal was to have a healthy baby/mama, we ended up having a wonderful birthing experience. Which to be honest, I didn’t even think was possible after my first pregnancy. I truly can’t recommend Dr. Thompson enough — and our only regret is not finding out about him sooner!"

"I was lucky enough to have Dr. Thompson as my provider during my most recent pregnancy. Being a labor and delivery nurse and having worked alongside him the past several years, I knew I wanted him as my doctor. His compassionate bedside manner, knowledge, confident skills and dedication to his patients and profession made the decision easy. It ended up being a long and difficult journey and Dr.Thompson was there for me and my husband every step of the way. Whether it was an office visit, an extra ultrasound to ease my mind, an emergency phone call at 2am or just a simple question, Dr. Thompson made himself available. "Dr Thompson is an amazing Doctor! He is very caring and made my husband and I feel like we were his only patients even though he has several patients. He never made us feel rushed and took the time to explain everything to us and answer all our Questions. He provided such excellent prenatal care to us from the day we met him to the delivery of our son this August. He is very down to earth and humble.He went above and beyond in the care provided to me. I cant say enough good things about him. I had a few challenges towards the end of my pregnancy and having a caring doctor made the challenging time much easier.I would definately recommend him to anyone looking for an OB/GYN as he is passionate about what his job and its evident through his patient care. I loved all the staff at Stanford Women's health. Jennifer, Dr Thompson's nurse is just as attentive and caring as he is. Overall, i am so thankful for Dr Thompson and his entire team."
