About Us

McIntyre Library, located at 103 Garfield Avenue in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is a vibrant hub of academic and cultural activity. The library is not just a place for studying and research, but also a venue for engaging events and exhibitions.
Recently, B.J. Hollars, a professor of English, collaborated with faculty, alumni, and current UW-Eau Claire students to produce a one-hour documentary. Additionally, the Third Ward Neighborhood Association’s “100 Years of Architectural Style” historic home tour will be taking place on August 6th.
The Forum at McIntyre Library will host the final installment of its 2022-23 season on April 6th, featuring the renowned poet, author, and editor Naomi Shihab Nye. Nye, who is a professor of creative writing at Texas State University, will be sharing her insights and experiences with the audience.
In May, author Toya Wolfe, known for her acclaimed novel Last Summer on State Street, will be visiting UW-Eau Claire for book clubs, workshops, and a reading and discussion on May 4th. Additionally, the library will be hosting the traveling exhibit “We Will Always Be Here” from the Wisconsin Historical Society, starting on February 27th.
One of the highlights at McIntyre Library is a digital exhibit created by a team of Blugolds, which tells the inspiring story of women who challenged societal norms and gender expectations in the post-World War II era. With its diverse range of events and resources, McIntyre Library continues to be a dynamic and enriching institution for the UW-Eau Claire community.
