"Dr. Kaldor was truly a joy to work with as a first time mom. I am someone who wants options and information, and that’s exactly what she gave me without being overbearing or difficult to work with. I truly couldn’t have imagined a better doctor to have by my side throughout my pregnancy and delivery. She went above and beyond to coordinate with my mental health care team to ensure I was getting all the best care possible. She never pressured me to do any medical procedures or take any medications unless I wanted to. In fact, she eliminated a few ultrasounds from my plan of care (from a different doctor) when I expressed concern for the cost and necessity of them. I had multiple tests come back as slightly concerning and she completely gave me control of electing whether I wanted to pursue medication/further testing or not. She provided me with the information needed to make an informed decision and supported me fully when I chose to do some and not do others. My uterus was measuring 1-2 cm ahead every appointment and she never pressured me to have an ultrasound to check the size of the baby or suggested there could be anything wrong (because there wasn’t). During delivery, I started struggling a lot with anxiety, and she was incredibly perceptive to it and responded quickly, helping me get through the delivery process. She has a very straightforward approach which individuals who need more “coddling” (not meant in a negative sense) may not mesh well with, but I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kaldor and would recommend her to any of my friends in a heartbeat."
"Doctor Kaldor is absolutely amazing. She does have a very blunt, no nonsense attitude but I prefer that to a doctor that doesn't care. She's extremely thorough with her care and listened to all my concerns about current and past pregnancies. I have had nothing but large babies (all four of my first over 9lbs) and when this pregnancy showed possible diabetes she was kind enough to give me an alternate means of testing when I couldn't do the 3 hour test due to lack of having childcare for my youngest. When the results showed I did indeed have diabetes and we couldn't get it controlled even with insulin she made sure that we did what was best for baby and me by inducing as soon as was safest to. When I had felt that something was off when the induction didn't work and begged for a c-section she allowed me to have one. She was wary as I'm terrified of needles and wanted general anesthesia but she talked me through everything and found a means of getting the spinal without the anxiety of the needles affecting me as bad. Turns out it was the best option to have gone through with the section as baby turned breech on us and Doctor Kaldor got her out and got me taken care of without any issues. Shes extremely compassionate and listens to her patients concerns. She even made sure to let my bf and I know when there was a doctor on call that we had really bad experiences with our last pregnancy and gave us the option to go home and come back when she was there instead. never had a better OB in my life."
"If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went to Kaldor as a first-time mom, and just had the worst experience with her. Hoping for guidance, support, and answers in this new journey, my appointments consisted of berating me to not only submit to unnecessary procedures (to her own monetary benefit [my first visit she prescribed me an antibiotic for an obsolete lab result- our healthcare system is disgusting), but also severe judgment went discussing how I wanted to raise my child once she was born. These were only the minor details of my negative experience with Katheryn. A few other examples include: the first time that I measured 2cm larger than where I was supposed to be that week, the first words out of her mouth were: you're two centimeters too big, you may have a diabetic baby." Who says that as a first assumption?! Her continued lack of knowledge came with my long list of vitamins and supplements. She asked, "why are you on magnesium? You know there is such a thing as taking too many supplements, right?" I ignored her question as I very well know that magnesium is necessary for over 600 chemical reactions within our body that happen on a daily basis...and you can take too many supplements if you don't know why you're taking them. Finally...my last visit before having my baby, I had gained 12 pounds in a matter of 10 days. Her immediate response was, "what are you eating? Keep a food diary of what you eat in a day and try to lay off the cake and ice cream...: compared to taking a second to think about other possibilities of the extreme swelling and weight gain...like...hmmm..I don't know..maybe preeclampsia? Three days later I felt like I was having a heart attack. We went to the emergency room. My blood pressure was skyrocketing. "Oh, it looks like you have SEVERE preeclampsia...and that baby needs to come out, or else it could be fatal. FATAL?! Okay. Then she comes in yelling at me to put my mask back on when I'm crying...you know..because I'm SCARED. The nurses at Prairie Ridge were amazing though. I was then taken by ambulance to St. Mary's. After my baby was born, I, by coincidence, came into conversation with other women who've had Kaldor as their doctor, and had the exact same negative experience. I honestly don't know how she still is able to practice . She not once asked me how I was doing.. how I was feeling...she had forgotten my boyfriend - even though he had been at every previous appointment with me....I would stay away from her. Anyone else is literally a better option."
