"During my yearly "wellness" visit with my PCP in December 2019, she noticed that there was a mass on my left lower abdominal area; and she was very concerned by it and ordered an ultrasound "STAT". She was very concerned about it and voiced the urgency of getting the test ASAP. I had the US on the following Monday(I saw Pcp the previous Friday) morning. As I was driving home from the US, my PCP was calling me with the results. I knew it wasn't going to be good news when I saw the caller ID PLUS the fact that only 30 minutes had passed from the US. My doctor confirmed that there was a mass on my left ovary; and it was measuring quite large, 13" to be exact. I was told to be prepared for surgery within the next two weeks, and I was referred to see an Oncologist. I briefly saw the Oncologist that Thursday, who then referred me to see Dr. Mahavi. My appointment was on the following Monday with Mahdavi. He examined me and thoroughly read all the recent notes in my chart, and asked me the usual types of things in regard to my history, etc., then he had his surgery scheduler join us. He was SOOOOO nice, and his bedside manner was impeccable! He told me exactly what my options were and he suggested what he felt was necessary for my particular situation. The 'plan' was that he would have to perform a Radical Hysterectomy Surgery once the mass was removed. He wanted the mass sent to the lab while I was still under the anesthesia and he wasn't going further until the results had returned. I was in the O.R. for a total of 5 hours I was told. The next thing I knew was that I was being woken up in my hospital room by a younger female nurse, with a big smile on her face She was telling me my surgery was a success and that the "mass" results were 'negative', the mass was a large tumor and was benign; I didn't have any cancer, Thank God! I was inpatient for 3 days, released on New Year's Eve, ironically. I could put it all behind me and start a 'new'. My recovery was uneventful as expected. Dr. Mahdavi is an excellent surgeon, and I would highly recommend him to anyone facing similar circumstances I promise you that you'll not regret it. He's an excellent surgeon, physician, and above all human being. I've never encountered anyone like him, not to mention a physician. I'm forever grateful for Dr. Mahdavi and I thank the heavens above for putting him in my life. If you're pondering the decision to see him, rest assured you won't go wrong with picking him to be part of your team for your medical care."
