"I attended two back-to-back courses at the home location in Stoughton, WI: Electronic Systems Design for EMC Compliance (2 days) and Advanced Printed Circuit Board Design for EMC (1 day). I found both courses to be quite helpful. Too often, engineers fall into the mindset of checking off lists or solving some magic equation in order to fix an EMC problem. Todd stresses that design for EMC cannot be boiled down to a simple laundry list of guidelines. I think that this is a good mindset to have because it encourages students to really THINK about the underlying physics, and to apply the principles that he teaches in his class. Todd does a good job of organizing and presenting the material. He also does a good job with time management and breaks: we were able to get through hundreds of slides, while still allowing for a multitude of questions and some side discussions, specific to each students' product. Nancy did a wonderful job of keeping us fed and well-caffeinated. They have snacks, coffee, and cold drinks set out for consumption throughout the training. For lunch, we went on "field trips" to some of the local Stoughton restaurants. I really liked that they built these local relationships with other small businesses in the area. Disclaimer: obviously, if you are attending a class held at a remote location, this part won't apply, although I'm sure that Todd and Nancy will do their best to provide the same amenities and care as when they are hosting students at their base location. In summary, I would highly recommend attending a Learn EMC training. Todd does an excellent job teaching and Nancy does a great job creating a good learning environment!"
