"The school itself is not good I was a student there last year and the teachers are rude and personally I am not a fan of the principal. But the reason I give this school 4 stars is my favorite teacher, Mr.Osmon, he is really patient and he always kept me interested in school and prepared me for high school. He also had/has lizards (removed because of Covid quarantine). But again most importantly he was nice to me, patient, and helped me understand high school! I wish I could go back just to talk to him about high school."
"I did my student teaching at STEM, and then immediately enrolled my children. They have been at STEM for years and we have had a wonderful experience with all of our children. This is a rigorous program that not only provides children with academic instruction, but also provides students with life skills, such as independence and critical thinking skills. The staff communicate frequently and support students as they learn to manage their time and their projects for themselves."
"My son has attended this school for all 3yrs and now is moving on to high school. I have positive and negative thoughts on his time there. Unfortunately, more seem to be negative. As far as his education, it was okay. I feel that if you have a child who works hard, but is still just a average student despite their efforts, they may be lost in the crowd. The philosophy that some of the staff has is for students to ask their peers first and then ask the staff. I disagree with that. Also, it looked like at times the staff was pushing their own personal agenda on students.(ie; presidential election and the national walkout)The discipline, in my opinion is lacking. Bullying of students and harassment of female students was noticed throughout the year by my son. Not much seemed to be done about it. I felt the school counselor was, to use the school's dialogue, less than proficient. If you have a child that needs to see the school nurse, have no worries, Ms. April is incredible! The last thing I have to say is, all the people who write reviews and mention the negative reviews are by "bad" students, so be it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I wish I had more positive things to say, but I do hope this helps you to make a decision on the right school for your child."
"Waukesha STEM Saratoga Campus is one of the best middle schools any hands-on learners could hope for. Those who apply themselves and actually do work succeed. The teachers regularly go above and beyond the call of duty to help those who are struggling, offering choices, programs, and more to aid those struggling, and advance those already at the level of proficiency. There are some in the review section who have had negative experiences, and while I cannot deny the existence of some faults in the system, there are enough opportunities to remediate their grades, or learn things they missed while they were sick, or on vacation. All of the teachers, as mentioned previously, help engage and expand my educational capacity. The transition is jarring at first, but after my first year I caught the hang of the flow. The school is not designed efficiently, however. I pity the poor sap with the locker on the other end of the school to where most of their classes are. However, the end of year activities are engaging, and fun. This school deserves 5 stars."
"Before I get started I just want to say most of the 1 Star Reviews are from people who either a) don’t get their work done, b) get in trouble, or c) both. In all honesty, this school is decent. For the most part, the teachers are good, the education quality is good, and the school building is alright. The issue arises in the schedule and the ideas that can be a bit half baked at times. The schedule is god awful, we don’t have normal periods, we have cores which are longer than regular periods. The Pathways/Electives is so much of a mess to understand how it runs I’m gonna spare you the time and not explain it in this review. FLEX and Connect are times where you can make up on work which is a great idea, especially for a middle school. The schedule seems to just change at a moments notice sometimes. My biggest single gripe with this school is the lack of a history and social studies classes, not the best for going into high school. TL:DR - Unique school with some great concepts that are a bit rough around the edges. Get your work done and you’ll be fine. Light to Decent 5."
