Prairie Springs Environmental Education Center, Carroll University Waukesha, WI 53189

Located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the Prairie Springs Environmental Education Center at Carroll University is a school dedicated to exploration and learning both indoors and outdoors. Just a short drive from the main campus, this center offers over 75 acres of land to discover, including the Green Field Station with two miles of trails for exploring Genesee Creek and surrounding natural habitats.

In 2012, Carroll University expanded the center with the purchase of a three-acre property, which was renovated into a state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratory known as the Paul Fleckenstein Research Laboratory. With additional funding and resources, the Prairie Springs Environmental Education Center now offers a variety of educational opportunities for students, including courses, internships, and work study programs.

The center also features a Guest House with meeting space and overnight accommodations, making it a versatile location for events and gatherings. Todd Levine, PhD, serves as the Director of the Greene Field Station and Prairie Springs Environmental Education Center, offering his expertise as an Education Scholar and Certified Senior Ecologist. Students at Carroll University have the opportunity to engage in hands-on research and learning experiences at this innovative institution.
