"Quite the ordeal getting stolen from. Back in August my daughter was finishing up the summer and we had a great experience while at the music academy. Her instructor was great to have, my daughter loved her and it went really smooth! Her instructor was leaving after the summer for college and we were going to have a new instructor. Our daughter can be shy with new people and so we told our instructor that we were going to pause our lessons after August (with school starting as well we wanted a break). She told us that was fine and understood we were going to be done with OMA for a little bit. 1 week into September we got an email from the office manager informing us of our daughter's schedule for the month of September. We emailed back letting her know that we had talked to our instructor and informed them that we were going to be done temporarily and are not going to be back for a little bit. We received an email letting us know that our instructor probably didn't know the process but we were required to inform the front desk (not tell our instructor) before the 15th and that we were going to have to still pay for the month of September. Annoyed that apparently we shouldn't have listened to their instructor when they said sounds good and checked if they knew what the policy was or not.. annoyed that they "snuck" in an extra payment but also surprised that one month was worth a customer to them? I rolled my eyes but didn't really think anything of it. I sent an email canceling the services. November rolls around and I see that they are still taking money out of my bank! I email them (with the attached email of me telling them that we were not going back) asking for a refund for the past months that we did not attend OMA. They sent us emails refusing to give me a refund and indicating that we didn't fill out a withdrawal form, that telling our instructor wasn't the policy, and that we didn't tell them that we were quitting. I referenced the attached email letting them know after the first month they took money from us that we were quitting. There response was that we didn't even give them a chance to have a new instructor! So apparently not giving them a chance means they have the right to take 3 months payment? I liked the classes and were planning on going back along with our younger children. But I would caution going here and I certainly won't ever go back. I can't see any other way than I was just stolen from for 3 months and if I hadn't said anything I would just be continued to be stolen from until I noticed and then apparently would not get anything back. **Edit** Just a response to the owners response, this kind of review should tell you everything you need to know about this company.. I'm annoyed by the first month that I didn't go and still had to be charged. I wrote the review after I was charged for 2 more months after I had sent an email notifying OMA that I was not coming back and then not given my money back for those 2 months."

"As an adult, it has been difficult to find music lessons for anything other than piano. I was delighted to discover the Onalaska Music Academy. The office personnel have been great at handling newbie questions from me and my teacher has been very good."

"Great staff, our daughter loves going to her violin lessons. She leaves just as happy if not happier than when she arrived. The patience the instructors have is amazing, and how they interact with everyone is admirable."
