Reviews of Patio Bike Shop
"Very nice people, gave me a huge discount when I bought my bike cause I helped pick up trash around the area for fun. Really like the people who work there, and please to also help me out to keep your trash to your selves."
"Vintage bikes galore. And not beat up, old used bikes these are [new old stock]. Probably going to have to get a new 1980's Columbus Bianchi frame and build."
"Extremely happy customer! I’m a big man and had to get an odd part for a plus-size bike. They had it in stock and for less than Amazon. On another bike they fixed a flat, but rather than replacing with the stock tube they asked me some questions and recommended a beefier tube. Totally glad they did. Also I had shoddy shifter work done at Erik’s that never worked quite right. Turns out it was broken. The folks at Patio took a look, asked a few questions, and instead of replacing the stock part recommended heavier parts. Again, they had my unusual parts in stock and had it working better than new much sooner than promised for less than their estimate. AND they tightened up some other things I didn’t ask them to and bike is working better than new. The place isn’t fancy but these folks know what they’re doing. Extremely happy they took the time to ask me questions and worth every penny in my book."
"I recently had a great experience at Patio Bike Shop. I decided to give my daughter's 2011 Trek Mystic 16" a tune-up (we bought it used at another store). I took the crank and rear wheel hub apart and saw it was in need of new bearings, a cleaning and new grease. I've never done this before. So I took my handful of caged ball bearings and headed to Patio. Again, I had no idea what I was even looking for. I told them what I was working on and showed them my pile of parts I'd need to replace. One of the bicycle mechanics on duty quickly gave me a lesson on bearings. And the owner even instructed me on the proper way to put bearings on a bicycle. They provided me all the parts (and new grease) needed for a great price and the free lesson; which wasn't even expected since they would probably prefer the business had I just brought the bike in for them to overhaul, was priceless. I will certainly be returning to this store in the future. It's local, its small business, great customer service. A trifecta."
"My partner and I took our bikes in a few days ago for a tune-up and while the mechanics may be good and the turnaround time is much quicker than other bike shops in the area, the experience my partner had picking them up today leaves a sour taste. When she went in to pick them up they immediately asked for the claim tickets they ripped off a pad of paper when we dropped them off (think old school coat check). She didn't have them on her and they said they were required to get our bikes. Luckily she found them in her car otherwise they wouldn't have been able to release our bikes?! What would they have done if we lost them? They only had our name and phone number. Upon paying for the tune-up and using her credit card in a chip machine the lady took her card and ran it through an old school carbon copy credit card machine that imprinted the cards info on to paper. She then took her card and wrote down all of the credit card number, her name, exp date and security code on a piece of paper in addition to this. Upon asking what they do with that paper the lady says they staple it to the receipt and lock it in a room (meaning there are probably hundreds of peoples credit card info in an office somewhere there since they don't throw them away or shred it). She asked if one of the guys could help her load the bikes on to the bike rack since it was my car and my rack that she was unfamiliar with and they just starred and said they weren't able to because we live in a "lawsuit society". They continued to watch her try to load the bikes while not helping until she said that they could leave and she would figure it out. Not only are they non-compliant with credit card laws but their customer service is severely lacking. Sucks because we wanted to help out a local business but we will not be returning here for any future services."
