R J Riches 2145 Highway Avenue, Mounds View, MN 55112

"First time here for my wife and I. We were seated quickly, but at a big round 6 foot table... we walked past several empty booths. Odd. The place seems old, but the place looks clean, although it could use some TLC. No padding in the booths, just wood. The food was very good! I had "Riches Omelet"... it was huge! Sauteed onions, peppers, ham, and hashbrown all stuffed inside. (you can get hashbrowns on the side), and it was covered with cheddar cheese sauce. The omelet was thin and tasted good and well stuffed. My wife had a side of cornedbeef hash and an english muffin. Pretty triditional hash. It had a good crust and tasted great. Two ladies working the floor and a third would come out of the kitchen area to deliver food and help occasionally. We had a slightly hard time getting our check, so we walked to the front and quickly cheched out. The waitresses were bussing tables, I didn't see anyone else helping. So management has a slight problem with staffing, which in turn affects the customers' experience. Overall, the food was great, friendly (overworked) staff. But a place to try for sure!"

"It has been many years since I have been able to stop at RJ Riches. Oh my how I have missed the food! They have never disappointed me. Flavor, amount of food, price, friendliness and attentiveness! This is a must go place. You can get whatever you want at whatever time of day. We had the gyros omelette. It was hanging off the plate! Can't wait to come back!"

"First time coming here and I was in shock when they brought me out these enormous plates full of food. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was laid back and old school diner feel. I never seen gyro meat as an option to put in an omelet? Ill tell ya, i was very impressed. I would say it was amazingly good. Must go and check it out if you like great food and lots of it in a cozy ma n pa kitchen."
