"3/10/24 - Finally got back to finish the trail. Enjoyed it very much. There were quite a few downed trees on the trail, some quite large but not too large that we weren't able to get over or around them. It was a nice quick hike. 12/25/23 - This was a great trail to walk! I can't wait to go back and walk further on it (Big Hill). I also want to follow the Nature Trail. We didn't get very far as we did a lot of exploring the buildings and taking pictures(I didn't post them all). My only concern/issue was almost stepping on a pile of dog poo (evidence in pic below). I don't understand people who don't clean up after their animals and leave it on a path for others to step on."
"Beautiful and well kept trail with a few historical buildings of a former homestead. So far I have only visited in summer - 8/5/23 - and some trees are down from recent storms. The trail past the fence that connects to the Ice Age Trail is blocked, but can be traversed with caution. Also there was no one else here on a Saturday which was nice. Two nearby trails had half full parking lots so this is a nice alternative trail if you want less traffic."
"Enjoyable place with access to McMiller trails in spring-fall, and you can access the Ice Age via Shelter #2 if you head east just past the bench vista (hop the fence). Very cool older buildings to check out as well. Parking for 5-6 cars but more just north at Emma Carlin a hundred yards away."
"One of our favorite hiking spots in the Kettle Moraine. We love to see the old buildings on this old farm and venture through the beautiful prairie. The sunset from the big hill is a must do!"
"Beautiful setting, but close to civilization with a bit of noise. So 3 stars, lose one for noise and another for being a bit busy. There's a great overlook that takes some effort to get to. Good thing was I didn't see anyone adventuring out to the big hill and had quite some area to myself. I spent about 4 hours out by the hill and walking about myself."
