"The island is a great place to spend time on the riverfront, playing disc golf, using the bike/pedestrian trail, and bird watching. There are special events all year long. Don't miss Music on the River, Thursdays from June through August! I would give five stars, but they don't allow dogs everywhere on the island, and I think they could manage the land in a more environmentally friendly way."
"Fortunately, no seemed to be upset by the fact that I had my puppy with at this very interesting park/historic site. Prior to our I had no idea they have a no pets allowed policy. However, when I noticed we weren't the party with furbabies, I had to wonder how serious they are about the rule."
"A great park with shelter and bathrooms and kids play equipment right along Mississippi River. Our family reserves the shelter for family reunions every few years. It's a great park with easy access to fishing."
"Really nice park. Very spacious. Right on the water. Great place to picnic; tables as well as covered shelters available. Public restrooms spread through the park. Nice flower garden as well as historic buildings to view."
"We came at the wrong time of year, much of the area was flooded, but still managed to get to most places and have a good time. A beautiful area with a lot of things to see and do. Museums, a disc golf course, restaurant, sculpture park, baseball diamond, and great views. Was well worth the trip."
