Dynamic Drum School

"This review is long over due but Chris at Dynamic Drum School is an excellent instructor with a vast range of experiences and education under his belt. I went to learn jazz drum set and as a new student to the instrument, I couldn't have picked a better teacher to start with. Chris has a background in jazz but is very well versed in all styles and can help you get better at whatever your goals are (technique, style, performance, repertoire, etc.). I think one of the most valuable things about him is that he is a great teacher. He can break things down, analyze your playing, and give you feedback on how to improve. He does this thoughtfully and makes it individualized. He's very organized, patient, and has online accounts for students to track their progress, view training programs, and access learning resources. Chris also offers zoom or in person sessions and is great at teaching kids (although he can teach any age, from beginner to advanced). Don't waste time with other teachers that tell you there's only one way to hold a stick or only one way to play the bass drum. Whether you want to learn to play drums, songs, make performance videos, or brush up technique, or just be all around better drummer, Chris is your guy. Thanks Chris!"

"My son and daughter stared lessons with Chris about 2 or 3 months ago. We looked into many teachers, but my kids really liked Chris the best. He has a lot of teaching experience with young students (My kids are 8 and 10) and is super patient. After observing Chris teach a few lessons, I was impressed how he figured out that my children learn differently. He really gears the lessons to fit how they each pick things up differently. He is teaching them songs they both really like. My son likes AC/DC and the Foo Fighters and my daughter likes music from Frozen and Taylor Swift. He is happy to teach them the songs they like and they have a ton a fun at the lessons. Overall Chris is really great with kids and I highly recommend him."

"My 10 year old daughter had an interest in playing the drums for years. I was very hesitant because of the noise. My daughter kept insisting on playing drums and starting lessons, so I finally thought we would give it a try. About a 1 1/2 years ago we brought our daughter in for a trial lesson at the Dynamic Drum School and she loved it. I talked to Chris about the noise situation and he spent a lot of time explaining the different options for us. He did a lot of research for the different types of drum sets we could get (I really appreciated him taking the time to do that because I had no clue where to start). We settled on an electronic set that he recommended and my daughter is so happy. She really looks forward to her lesson every week and spends time practicing too. Chris is really great with her. He is really patient and enthusiastic when he teaches. My daughter is a little rocker and Chris teaches her lots of punk and rock songs that she loves. I have really been amazed at the progress she has made while studying with Chris for only a 1 1/2 years. I really recommend Chris to any parent that wants a trustworthy, patient and fun teacher for their child."
