"Our experience at Heritage Estates was not great. The apartment had poor ventilation and the unit consistently smelled of cigarette smoke. Management did nothing to correct the problem. There were, what I would consider, more than the normal amount of bugs in the apartment as well. Lastly, we were scammed on our security deposit and rent money that was owed back to us. We were asked to move out early to accommodate their new renters (have our apartment cleaned, turn in our keys, and allow their maintenance team into our unit early) but then we were denied the rent money we promised. When I called to inquire, I was shouted at by their office staff. They refused to honor their request for us to move out early and were extremely unprofessional throughout the entire ordeal even subtracting money from our security deposit to cover utilities for the days we had no access to our apartment. I would avoid this establishment if possible as dealing with the management was frustrating and impossible. Regardless of your stance on a situation, it is never necessary to yell and degrade someone over the phone because they're questioning a decision that was made."

"Old Laundry and more bugs than normal I am living there for almost 1 year. And I had problems with the laundry 3 times. The machines are very old and are staining my clothes and sometimes the dryer it is not working properly. I complained about it 3 times and they didn’t changed just “fixed” but still staining the clothes (and they are grease stains). My contract will end in the end of August and this problem happened now in June/July. Other problem that borders me a lot is the bugs inside the apartment! It is not normal, the apartments has bugs ALL THE TIME and I am always cleaning but I am always finding them! For that reason I am looking for other apartment!"

"Hot water heater went out Thursday the 1st, called landlord to have someone come look at it, came, yep...leaking and burnt out pilot light. Long job was told first thing Friday morning. Maintenance guy was here right at 8. Several hours went by...then I get informed that in the process of installing he wrecked my furnace. Water had leaked in and no heat could come out. He was in my unit for 11 in a half hours trying everything, besides calling the main maintenance man to come take a look. Needed a certain part to fix what he had broke. I was given two space heaters and told he'd see me on Monday. Mind you space heaters aren't meant to heat an entire almost 1000 square foot apartment. Dealing with this for four days and having my 7 year old child dealing with not being able to sleep in his own bed, because i had to shut both bedroom doors to keep heat because 2 space heaters is not going to heat an entire apartment especially with negative degree temps I had enough. Monday comes which would be the 5th. Both men show up to do the job, I was informed that the main maintenance guy had the part i needed for my furnace all along. Getting this new information floored me. My son and I went four days with no heat all because a newbie didn't want his boss to find out he actually was the source of the problem. Knowing this new found information i proceeded to confront my landlord and ask how i was gonna be compensated for their screw up. I was not greeted with empathy, but rather screamed at by a woman I have never met in the office. Told me it wasn't their fault which in fact it was. Told they would "look at my electric bill" but not guarantee compensation. In all my years of renting which is almost 15, I have never been treated like an animal before. To feel like I was nothing and that my safety as well as my son's was not important just floors me. And seeing that someone three weeks ago experienced the same type of treatment in the dead of winter is just bonkers. Someone needs to be held accountable and fired."

"I currently live in the town houses and it is a very nice set up but I have a few issues that hopefully will turn you away. My furnace went out on Christmas and was out for a week. Maintenance came over and said that there was nothing they could do about it. My place got down to 57 degrees and my pipes froze, are those living conditions you want to be in? I can't do a load of laundry and have hot water to take a shower and they told me to "live with it". With various other little things that are wrong here I strongly suggest that you keep looking for a different place to live."
