Reviews of Broadway Lofts Apartments
"READ REVIEWS BEFORE MOVING HERE!! I wish I would have read the reviews before moving here. Looks can be very deceiving. I lived here for a year. When I first moved in, the unit was NOT clean. I know for a fact they didn’t clean the unit because I found a weed pipe in the cupboard from the previous tenant when I first moved in. The dishwasher had food crusted onto the inside, the washing machine reeked of mildew, and the walls had patches of paint that you can visibly see they just did a quick few swipes. The unit was very poorly prepared for a new tenant. In the bathroom there was also brown condensation that you could see dried up on the walls. About a month into the lease I noticed the windows didn’t open and were sealed shut. Prior to signing the lease I was never informed of the windows not opening. This forced me to have to run my air conditioner 24/7 from summertime all the way to the end of November. The unit would get up to 88 degrees inside if the a/c was not running constantly. The boiler room was also locked shut inside the unit so if you dropped something and it went under there you can’t get it. The hallways, floors, stairwell and elevator were always FILTHY. The carpet in the hallways looked brown like it’s never been cleaned since the day the complex was built. The stairwell had dog vomit, dog poop, and a smashed cupcake in the hall for an entire month. Literally an entire month that stairwell was not cleaned. There is always some type of wrappers, food, dog poop, you name it in that stairwell. During my last month here, there were reports of roaches. That just tells you how clean this place really is. The elevator had smeared black paint on the walls at one point, and the tiles in the elevator were coming up off the floor. In my unit specifically, there was always this random ticking noise that was so loud. I know it wasn’t from the people above me, I have know idea where it was coming from but that was annoying because it was all the time. The police would be here every other day. There was a police chase that ended in the parking lot in the back around 3 am one night. Just recently in January, a dude from the second floor was off all types of drugs and used a crow bar to bang on peoples doors; including my door, and was screaming “who’s gonna be the first to come out!!?” He put all kinds of holes in the wall and dents in doors, and smashed the neighbors ring camera. The police came & took care of him. Peoples packages would get stolen from the mail area downstairs. Since the complex is right in front of the homeless shelter, in the summertime non-residents would park in the back near the shelter getting high in their cars. And no it was not weed that they were using. Also my car got broken into RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING in broad day light!! Parked in the second to first spot in the front of the complex, left my car for 10 MINUTES, come back to my window smashed and my belongings stolen. When I asked for camera footage they told me they don’t have cameras pointing towards the street because it’s not their property and it’s a public street. If those parking spots are in front of the complex and residents use them, THERE SHOULD BE CAMERAS!! The only cameras are the ones in the back by the shelter and dumpsters, there’s not even cameras by the garages and entrances where most people park. There needs to be cameras covering the doors. I felt very unsafe seeing that there wasn’t any, especially having the break in experience, and randoms getting high in the back. Overall, the whole complex was always dirty & the residence is not safe. The modern look and feel of the place is nice, and all of my neighbors on the 3rd floor were wonderful and very friendly. But the overall there’s more cons than pros to living here. Environment just does not feel safe, I would not recommend. I couldn’t wait to leave this place."
"The property manager Amy is so nice. She is always willing to help and is always understanding."
"This was my first apartment as a young adult & it was like moving into a hotel back in June of 2021. Modern & affordable as it’s income based. Management was super nice & on top of any issues brought to their attention within a day or two of reporting. My unit was a 1 bedroom 1 bath on the 3rd floor. A few months after living here management advised windows would be taken out to be repaired as apparently city deemed they were unsafe on this floor. They had notified tenants of repairs but then cancelled & never got them fixed in the entire 2 years of living here I had no opening windows. Talk about a fire/safety hazard & no valid air circulation which can increase health issues. Not only that but multiple problems with AC/central air. Upon new management my second year of renting, I notified them of my AC not working & being on 3rd floor it’s easy for it to get hot since heat travels up. This was in October when WI weather was bipolar but still relatively hot as global warming continues to get worse. Only the 3rd floor did not have opening windows & anytime I would cook on the stove/oven or use my dryer it would only get hotter. There were days my Apt. was nearly 80 degrees & management advised HVAC company wouldn’t come out to fix the AC at that time of year as we shouldn’t be using it. I don’t know what management expects tenants to do if it’s hot & their windows don’t open. After winter was over I reached out again & email after email of hounding them/showing up into office to remind them the AC needs to be fixed ASAP as it’s been 6 months they had time to plan for the cooling company to look at it. I then was treated as if I was dumb/had to give them proof multiple times that thermostat was not changing temp no matter how long I ran the AC. They then had cooling company look at it without giving any notice until the exact moment cooling company showed up but I was at work so I could not be there to explain the issue/frustration. Came home from work thinking it would be fixed & it was not, all said & done it didn’t get fixed until end of April so about 7 months later. Another thing is over the 2 years I lived here I watched the place get beat down by the month. Some tenants leaving trash in the hallways for days or litter. Tenants not picking up their pets mess, letting their kids roam the parking lot/hallways unattended. Kids would pound on walls next to my unit & vandalize the hallway walls & elevator. Overall not the worst place to rent from but definitely consider it’s not as nice as it looks on the outside & that you may not have opening windows. I know for a fact that management did not warn/notify a recent new tenant of the fact they wouldn’t have opening windows prior to signing a lease. Location is somewhat decent as it’s close to downtown Green Bay but the neighborhood constantly has cops around & even frequently visits this complex. Hope this helps anyone looking for some honest word of this complex prior to signing a lease with them."
"The disrespect I received from the management here was unbelievable. I would never recommend staying here to anybody. When we first moved in it was perfect, and the leasing agents were lovely (Elizabeth was great). But after they both left, I got nothing but belittlement. NO ACCOUNTABILITY on their end and so much miscommunication. I think I can praise Pamela for being the only personable employee, and thats about it."
"I've never been late on rent, but they want to evict a nurse right before Christmas because the office is SO unorganized?? I renewed my lease in March, then again in July, and now its December and they're acting like I'm the problem! They want to make me homeless for the holidays for literally no good reason! PLEASE BEWARE, THEY WILL HAVING THE BBB SHOW UP AT THIS RATE."
