"They will raise your rent mid-lease and breach their leases. The way management interacts with people makes me very uncomfortable. Lots of slum lord tactics. I would avoid this place like the plague."
"Apartments themselves are nice but management is terrible. Garbage disposal stopped working and we had to pay $200 to replace it. Washing machine stopped working and it took three months to get a new one in our apartment. Only after I called and emailed multiple times to complain it was finally replaced. I would not recommend these apartments."
"Place just keeps getting worse. If your looking to rent here I would look some where else. They raised our rent and then took way a simple (once included) dog amenity. Plus we pay 50 a month to have a dog here already. Least they can do is keep that. Clearly don't care about their residents or the dogs."
"Urban Edge at face value is a relatively affordable community given its location, size and amenities. They exceed at snow remova and common area upkeep. However, mass resident communication has been abrasive, there is a very obvious trash accessibility issue and rather than acknowledging that they are working towards providing trash accessibility, communication that residents will be fined is received in conjunction with the news that dog waste stations have been removed and neighbors able to report those who don’t pick after their dogs will receive monetary rewards. Are these issues for lease abiding residents? Not particularly however these messages are not only talked about amongst residents but acknowledged that these “issues” could be solved with increased accessibility. When you do complain about the dumpster area you are told they can only handle issues they are aware of yet they send mass emails a month prior acknowledging the dumpster areas. In addition, after my annual inspection, I received an email stating that new batteries had to be installed or else I would incur charges and I would have a reinspection with a 12 hour notice. Again, no issue at face value however with my move in being relatively recent, it is clear aged batteries were there upon move in. Will $13 batteries break the bank? No, but I would have appreciated a kinder approach to remedy the issue rather than a firm hand on an issue that I was unaware of (especially given my apartment was not cold and it was set to heat rather than off) upon arriving home, all locks had not been locked and after a week of asking for acknowledgment they replied stating that at least they locked one. Leaving a residents home the way you found it isn’t difficult. Lexington unfortunately does take a nickel and dime approach rather than understanding the small things help increase resident retention. Now, this is a quiet, clean community, the buildings are average construction in today’s rental industry however the communication and concern/issue resolution could use prompt and substantial improvement."
"Used to be amazing apartments with great amenities then Lexington took over. I’ve been living here for around 3 years and when I first moved it was amazing. Then they got rid of most of the dog waste bins without any notice. Got rid of the rentable garden beds. Got rid of rentable golf carts. Got rid of the gated entrance. Stopped maintaining the dog park. Constantly bees and mosquitos in the summer. Beautiful apartments but horrible management. You can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing and if a dog is barking you can hear it even outside. Inspections they give you a time from 8am-5pm which is awful if you work anything other than a 9-5 job. Beautiful apartments but not worth the hassle."
