Reviews of Cross Hill Heights Apartments
"First I have to say I loved the overall concept of the place. Yes, it did feel like staying in a hotel. The reason for the low rating is the Management, areas for pets and who they allow to rent to. Found out that they list it on a website for college students to rent. The guy who was at the office was worthless if you needed something from him. The dog area was supposed to be built but in our year there it never was. Even with the DNA test there was still “deposits “ around. Plus there was some questionable breeds too. And the college students yeah a pain in the butt! Many felt like they owned the place and did whatever. Many times they parked so close I had to get through my SUV out the back. You asked if they could park closer to the footing which had the larger area, and I got laughed at. They made it their mission to get close after that. Complained to Management but was told they can’t say anything. Worthless! This whole experience was the worst in all my 18 years of renting. Don’t get me started on the fees to leave. They are illegal! Waiting for someone to do the class action suit that was going around earlier this year."
"Loved the location and the apartment space we lived in. As with all places, there are pros and cons. Reading through the reviews with stars lower than 5, I agree and have directly experienced most of what was in the reviews. I was also charged over $700 worth of carpet replacement due to pet damage, but I am highly suspicious of this charge against me specifically because of how the carpet condition was when I had moved in. Prior to moving in, I had emailed the management a couple of times to make sure that the carpet had been cleaned since I noticed that the people who lived before me wore shoes in the house (I don't wear shoes in my house and take it off at the door). With multiple reassuring that the carpet had been cleaned, I still vacuumed the carpet to tidy up. Just from vacuuming one room, my completely brand new vacuum cleaner was over maximum filled with dirt, dust, hair, etc. I was very shocked at how much dust could come out of a "cleaned" carpet. I took a picture of the vacuum to send to the management but later realized that the email was not sent due to the size of the file. Because I had already moved my furniture in and had started cleaning up (even though the apartment SHOULD have been clean the moment I moved in), I let it go and moved on. After 2 years of living in the apartment, I left with big disappointment due to multiple reasons -- two big reasons being the way management neglected multiple renter's report of smoking (marijuana) in the building, which according to their policy, is not allowed, and being the way they charged me for full replacement of carpet that they had never cleaned for me when I moved in and might possibly be charging me for the damage that previous renters have caused. I received images of the damaged carpet, which is way more than what my dog could have caused (she is only 7 lbs and is house trained), and I doubt that they did the same with the previous renters who left me with very gross carpet. This was unfair because I felt like I was set up to pay for this carpet damage from the start. I didn't even attempt to fight for some of my deposit back because from my 2 years of experience with the management, I knew they would never give me my deposit back, if not charge me more by finding damages I don't deserve. If you are renting from this place or want to rent, please make sure you walk through the house together with a staff as you make notes of the house and do the same when you leave so they can't simply charge you for damage that wasn't all your fault. I wouldn't have minded paying partial deposit for the carpet damage knowing my pet have made mistakes (which I had cleaned up using pet carpet cleaner), but I am very disappointed about being charged all of my deposit ($800) and extra ($60)."
"Love to stay in Cross Hill Heights. I live in there for 3 months now.The staff are very nice and friendly, the residents are very quit and friendly. Also, the facilities are great. I used the fitness room mostly everyday, and party room is great for up to 20 people. Highly recommend to everyone!"
"I've lived at Cross Hill Heights for a few months now. I've had Forward Management for a few years now and this is the best apartment I've had with them so far. Joe, the property manager, is onsite everyday and always eager and willing to help. The property grounds are nicely cleaned and tended to. The area around here is very quiet, lots of people walking with their dogs too so if you have a dog its a great place. I've enjoyed living here so far and highly recommend."
"If you're looking for a fancy appartment in a quiet neighborhood this is the place. Watch out for nails on the road though, the construction crews building the place don't always clean up well one of the neighbors found a screw in their tire. I was a bit shocked by the price because it would cost as much to rent there as it does to live down the street and buy a condo. That's Madison for ya."
