Reviews of Maple Grove Apartments
"Our experience with the staff was disappointing and unprofessional, and resulted in us walking away from renting at this property. We were put under unreasonable pressure to sign a contract for a unit we were not given the time to see. I recommend future renters watch out for red flags and be cautious when considering renting from here. We originally spoke with Haley and asked for a tour, but she said we could not get an in-person tour without an approved application. We immediately filled out the paperwork and submitted it the same day (Wednesday) - to note, we exceeded all of the minimum requirements for a lease with Maple Grove Apts. We were notified of our approval a few days later (Friday), receiving a lease via email at 3:45pm to sign, with a 48 hour deadline. We were not offered the opportunity to tour the unit in-person, as promised. The staff then left the office at 4pm for the weekend, despite the office hours posted on their website until 5:30 pm. We called and stopped by multiple times that afternoon, before the posted close time, trying to talk to someone about seeing the unit in-person, but everyone had left. I sent an email response requesting the in-person tour as they promised. When they returned our call the following Monday, they provided a 2 hour window Tuesday to come tour the unit, and told us we must commit to the unit at the end of the tour and sign the lease by 2 pm that day. We were unable to make that 2-hour window since we both work and I had prior commitments, and I asked for additional options to tour, later on that Tuesday. Zoe was discourteous and argumentative on the phone, but finally agreed to a tour later in the day, again insisting we sign the lease immediately after touring the unit. I said we would need 24 hours to review the lease and discuss the unit/tour with the family before committing to a year-long contract. Zoe refused to allow that time, or any additional time. She grew more rude, interrupting and talking over me, and insisted we must sign immediately or lose the unit. She insisted the video tour should be good enough - a video tour that could have been shot 10 years ago, for all we knew. Had they given us the in-person tour as promised once our application was approved the previous week, and prior to sending us a lease to sign with a firm deadline, none of this would be an issue. I guess leaving early that day was more important than honoring a commitment or taking care of a potential customer. The pushy tactics are a huge red flag. I understand the high demand for rental properties and respect the need for the business to be timely when processing rental contracts - however, being forthright, honoring commitments, being available during normal business hours, and being polite and courteous to potential renters should be of higher importance to a reputable business. You should never sign a contract you are being pressured to sign. Always get the answers you need, and watch for signs of bad business practices. I think we likely saved ourselves from future headaches and possible issues choosing to walk away from this complex. If you decide to work with Maple Grove Apartments, be cautious and advocate for yourself."
"Old appliances (and when they break you know very well it's gonna be your fault.) Stone tiles in both bathrooms and in kitchen are cracking, company refused to fix it. Uses the cheapest materials available for any fix they can. Not queer safe (they're refusing to renew our lease in part to a dispute over our flags). Your rent is going to go up tremendously every year. Don't recommend especially for what they charge."
"I have been living here for 6 months and so far I have had the best experience with management and always on top of things! They truly value their residents. With the Wisconsin winter they are on top with shoveling and keeping it safe for all of us. I also love how there is laundry in unit and free internet service that works amazing! Update: Moving out due to buying a home. I cannot express the gratitude for these apartments they are amazing and get to you right away when I needed something to get fixed. I really appreciate all their help especially Monique for helping us from the start. Sad to leave."
"I lived here just about 4 years. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Maintenance was timely. They run a tight ship and uphold their leasing policy agreements. The pool is a nice treat in the summer. Work out gym area has a good selection of machines and weights that I used regularly. The hot tub is a real treat in the winter months. Sub-let was a simple process and I received just about all of my security deposit back. I would have loved to continue living here but life has taken me to another step on my journey. I highly recommend living here. Great location. Quick and easy access to downtown, Verona, and state parks / natural areas to decompress from city life. If I had to nitpick, the shared unit washers need to be updated as they did a shoddy job. There was also a bit of noise from upstairs neighbors but much quieter in comparison to other places I've lived in. Great pricing considering all the goodies you get along with this place."
"My partner and I loved living at Maple Grove Apartments. Our 2 bedroom was the perfect size for us, internet and cable were included in the rent, the amenities were great, and we had very positive experiences with the office management and maintenance. We had no issues having our dog living with us - unlike other apartment complexes we lived at which claimed to be “pet friendly.” In fact, at the end of summer they do a very fun doggy pool party which we enjoyed attending. Similar to other reviewers, we left because we purchased our first home (which the stable price point allowed us to save up for). Thank you Maple Grove team!"
