"Unfortunately, I never got to fly with Sling. Back in August, I booked the first two weeks of October for my commercial multi add-on and 50 hours of time building at the Torrance airport. I would be traveling from the east coast to do so. I was told initially to sign up online, and I would be contacted shortly thereafter with specific schedule times and study materials for the Tecnam. After not hearing back in three weeks, and reluctant to finalize plans without confirmation from Sling, I reached out to them and was assured that my spot was still secure and to go ahead and make my travel arrangements. I scheduled two weeks of vacation from work, canceling or rescheduling many appointments in the process. I arranged and paid for air travel, accommodations, local transportation, and boarding for my dog. I made several difficult financial decisions in order to pool my respurces to pay for all of this. A student of mine even rescheduled their checkride because they wanted me to be there for them. I was pretty excited to finally get the multi rating done. But more weeks passed and I still heard nothing from Sling. Yesterday, three days prior to leaving for my trip, I still hadn't gotten any communication from them so I called. After a long hold, I was informed that one of their planes has already been down indefinitely with a part on backorder. The other is scheduled to be down for maintenance for the entirety of the time I was scheduled to be there. No planes. They can't get me in until the end of the month. Not even so much as a "sorry". I'm a professional pilot. I understand maintenance obstacles and that nobody has control over equipment failing. What I don't understand is the utter lack of communication over maintenance conflicts that sound like they were pretty easy to see coming, and the total absence of anything approaching an apology for this lapse. I make very little money as a CFI and this whole debacle has cost me greatly with nothing to show for it. I gave 2 stars because everyone I spoke to on the phone was nice. I do not recommend Sling Academy and will not for the rest of my career. Good luck."

"I heard this academy from others. I researched it.That is amazing and unique pilot school.Their airplanes are brand new and class panel. Most training schools are prepared Cessna airplanes old models. I like sling airplanes and sling academy training method. I hope they accept my application.I don't want to get training from others. Only,I prefer to get training from sling academy. Reason is new airplane,safest,cheaper, friendly & professional instructors."

"I live in San Francisco, after having visited a dozen of schools in the Bay Area, I was extremely disappointed! I started looking for options outside the city and came across the Sling Academy. At first, I discovered the Sling Tsi aircraft and immediately fell in love. I decided to get one for myself and really liked the idea of training on the same plane (slightly different variant but similar enough). I was dealing with Lisa the whole time. She made everything easy as a breeze. A very competent and super nice person. After a week of training, I was emotional on the way back as I wanted to spend more time at the Academy. Instructors are also very competent and you can feel that there was a selection filter; if I compare them with the ones I met in the bay area it's day and night. Really great experience, no regrets, can't wait to get back and resume my training. There are only two things I would suggest: 1- Make aircrafts with parachutes available for nervous student flyers like myself. I know that it's useless most of the time, but it's a great advantage and technology that Sling already has, making it available to students wouldn't be that challenging, even at a higher cost there will be students interested 2- Please open a branch in the bay area and end our misery Thank you for your excellence!"
