"April update. Allison, property manager, is amazing. BUT we have provided our notice to move out at the end of the lease in 7 months. This place likely started with good intentions, but poorly managing the affordable dwelling units is the downfall. They likely did a horrible job at picking the best people for the community and establishing community rules. Management lacks the understanding of the impact of poverty in behavior. Twice a month we have to ask a neighbor's daughter to let us park in our ASSIGNED parking spot. When we do get our spot, she parks tightly next to our car on the grass area. At this point, she has the wrong perspective. -------------------------- This may be the most honest and informed review of the 1633 On The Park community. 1. The building layout has a European look and feel. Nice and simple. 2. The building is near two parks and a short drive or walk to Bayshore mall and other shopping centers and grocery stores, includingTrader Joes and Pick N Save. 3. The inside of the apartments are heavily designed with commercial materials, which gives it a stale feel. The floors are commercial vinyl, similar to a hospital or medical office. The counter tops are one step up from laminate and not attractive. Similar to a front desk at a medical facility counter. The cabinet depth is short. I can only fit a small amount of items on each shelf. The walls are spray on paint, which means the smallest touch and you will mark or smear the walls. Which is starting to be common practice in apartments. Overall I would not label these as LUXURY apartments. They sit more in the modest but new category. Especially when you take in account the low cost materials used in each unit. The inside does remind me of affordable housing units. simple materials designed for high traffic. No high-modest materials was used and I would not label this luxury living... It does not come close. 4. Perks: 1633 ON The Park is one of the few locations with two full bathrooms, w/d in the unit, and the location is conveniently in Glendale. 5. The price for the units, are over the market value. The units should be priced at $900-$1100. If you do not need 2 bathrooms, you can find a better deal for the price downtown and it will also be brand new. Warning the pet fee is $300 (not a deposit) plus $30 per month. This fee is above market. 6. The community, neighbors, are an odd bunch. The odd mix is at times, unfair, uncomfortable and risky. We have a mix of older retired people, who sit on their patio furniture and greet you as you come and go. Super sweet and nice to come home to. We have working professionals and a few students. Usually quiet and give you a neighborly hi, occasionally. And we have this very odd area in the community that is section8-ish in behavior. I am unsure why this section exists. And although I hate to assume that people less advantage will harm a community, this is based on behavior and not socioeconomic. This "labeled" group's behavior and actions are risky. They place trash in the recycle, they park as they like, their children walk back and forth to the gas station, a guest or neighbor, ate chicken wings and threw them on the ground when finish. Two units, are busy with new guests every day. I would not say the complex is ghetto, like a previous reviewer. I prefer, a few neighbors have sketchy behavior. Similar to Chicago section8-project- housing environments. BUT overall, many of the neighbors are quiet. And a few neighbors do not ruin it for the rest of the community. 7. This community is not for children. No play areas. And the location is not in a residential area. Surrounded by commercial buildings. May be unsafe for children with the high traffic on Green Bay. 8. Wonderful community for dogs. 9. Great community for an elderly persons and people with a physical disability. No steps anywhere, wide hallways for a wheelchair or walker. Low windows for easy opening from the inside. Overall, These units will not wow anyone. They are simple and functional."
"Ghetto I expect the city of Glendale would petition closure of the units. Management has changed quite a bit since its been. Apartments are pretty basic for the price no garage puts me in the mind of a hotel with the layout. No place for kids to play"
"We moved here in June My Husband and our 4 children and our experience has been awesome! Yes there has been a few issues with it being brand new but the leasing manager Priti (hope i spelled it right) was phenomenal! She made sure everything was taken care of! And my kids love it! Very excited to see everything come together....."
"Me and fiancé was looking for something not in the inner city but close enough to everything. The leasing Consultant helped us! She was very nice and she made us feel like we were already home. And to be quite frank she never made me nor my fiancé (male) feel uncomfortable. We appreciate the Elite fitness 30 day free trial Ms.Pretty gave us for the loss of the fitness room at the time of move in. We have no complaints. We will be renewing our lease!"
