"Lived in Ridge Creek unit almost 2 years. Immaculate upkeep.Responsive management.Grounds well maintained."
"My family inquired about a 2br 2ba unit back in October. After speaking with their representative, I was invited in for a showing. At the showing, I met with a gentleman (not an HDC employee) and at the end of the showing I explained my family’s situation - we are actively working on our credit which was in the 620-640 range (had paid off almost all debts from years ago in 5 months, had on-time payment history for a few years, etc), my fiancé and I had more than sufficient income for the rent of $1,695/month individually, and the gentleman encouraged us to apply. We did and were informed that we had not been approved. I asked for a reason and they simply said they could not approve us at this time. The unit sat vacant for months to follow. Meanwhile, we spent a short period of time staying with my mother-in-law and were able to get our own home in Oconomowoc. Their denial was truly a blessing in disguise, but the lack of respect and professionalism was evident from my first interaction with HDC. We corresponded several times via email and each time I asked for a reason so we knew what we needed to work on - they refused to answer! I understand that they do not have to provide a reason; but as a company I would think that providing a reason would be beneficial so the applicants can work on repairing that aspect of their profile & have a positive opinion of your org to consider your listings in future. As an aside, the gentleman that showed me the unit was very kind - but it did upset me that he called me 3-4x after our app had already been declined to set up a showing."
"Do not rent from them. The management is horribly rude. We moved here from Texas and needed a place in a pinch so we took a sublet that was available. I understand what a sublet is but they cleaned nothing. Crayon and food stuck to the walls from prior tenants, carpets destroyed, etc. We only stayed 8 months because when it came time to renew our lease they now required a full year, even tho we were told we could do 6 months and then suddenly wanted to raise the cost $200. So we gave our 30 day notice and not even 2 days after that found ourselves locked out of our place when we came home at 830pm. The garage door code was suddenly reset and the deadbolt in the front door was jammed into the building, leaving us completely locked out. (Had our keys in hand, that wouldn't help us) so we call, yes its almost 9pm but the manager tells us the maintenance guy isn't on call until the morning and to call a locksmith, which we explained we aren't locked out because we forgot keys (someone, probably them tampered with the place) and he hung up on us and then turned his phone off. They are not good people. I understand why people rent there because they are big and have big garages but the quality of the inside is very cheap and slapped together and the location due to being next to a scrap yard sucks. But to be treated as such is completely unnecessary when we were never bad tenants. And yes, they only have 1 maintenance guy and he is weeks behind if you need a repair, just do it yourself. And also for snow removal they don't have a set person contracted, so sometimes they don't show up for days and you have to shovel yourself out, sometimes they come at 2am and wakes the whole complex, another time we had to pull a guy out who had bald tires and was stuck. Just overall not a good place to live."
"Absolutely terrible place to live and I've lived in various townhouses and apartments in California, Pennsylvania, and Florida throughout my schooling. Firstly, management is rude and very slow to respond to any issues (e.g., did not have a working washer for a month). I sent several checks at a time to cover the following several months and checks were ALWAYS cashed weeks before due, not the days they were dated (thank goodness I had enough in the account). Moreover, although the units look nice after a quick tour, the quality of everything from paint to appliances is poor, especially considering how pricey it is. Lastly, but not least, is location. These units are positioned directly next to a factory that is very loud and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I was mad at myself the entire time for having chosen this place, but I did so sight unseen as I was moving from California."
"Lived here for just over one year. They deducted $300 from my security deposit for their expenses of cleaning and re-leasing (or in other words, what every landlord does in the normal course of business). The location of these apartments is also right next to a factory that makes more noise at night than it does during the day. The fireplace worked for about an hour over the full year plus I lived there, blinds and railings were cheaply put together."
