Reviews of Trillium Terrace
"I moved out on July 26, 2019 and left this apartment in the a better condition then it was given to me. This landlord is a cheapskate, beware of Trillium Terrace, LLC. I gave this landlord a 2 month notice in May and also verbal notice that I would be moving out. During this process he wanted to show my place which I did on several occasions. My lease was signed in July 2018 which I have. He also talked about replacing the carpet for the the new tenants that were supposed to be moving in August 1, 2019. Prior to moving out he asked us if we could move out earlier and I told him that we could be out on July 26 so, the new tenants can move in and he said that would be great. I also have this written document that I gave this to his manager Lori because she insisted that we give them something in writing. What a scam!!! I have video footage on how I left this apartment and the carpet and beware of this place because your deposit will not be coming back to you because they make up stuff as they go along with renting it out. When it was time to checked out of this place I had my check in/ check out sheet that I was given from the previous manager and of course I had my sheet and they didn’t even have a copy of it and she kept it but I managed to take a picture of it prior. When I checked out she told me that I would be charged $100 in fees which I was ok with. When William Ibach sent me my final deposit back this landlord charged me for rent for August 1-15 when I even stopped my electric service in July. So, tell me why would this slumlord charge me for August 1-15 after he asked me to move out early in July."
"There is sewer water dripping down in the basement garage. The hallways reek of pot smoke and mildew. The freeway is so loud, never plan on sleeping in. The landlord is famous for asking you to move out early and then charging and extra months rent. They make up bogus charges for cleaning. They skip a lot of preventative maintenance. My carpet was the original carpet."
"All is fine until you decide to move out. I lived here for two years in a two bedroom apartment. The apartments are a nice size for the area and for the cost. Carpet, tiling, appliances are all old - 18 years for most of it. We switched to a month-to-month payment after the first year as we anticipated a relocation for my partner's job. When we gave our 60 day notice, we did so in writing with our rent payment. I asked for email confirmation that they received our notice. Never received an email, but Patti came down to talk to us. She said since we gave our notice, we could move out at anytime before that 60 days was up and our rent would be adjusted based on our actual move out date. - I should have had her write that down. She had us write down a date we would be out (15 days before the end of the 60 day period as she insisted) and then the property owner (Bill) charged us for the days we were NOT in the apartment after that date. But we weren't allowed to keep the keys for the days we paid for and had no access to the unit. Couldn't get a hold of Bill to straighten anything out. Sounded like Patti couldn't ever get a hold of him either. Lori is very unprofessional in her role: - I let her know we had a damaged door in the kitchen that needed attention and she told me to fix it myself. - She charged us for damage that was there when we moved in - She violates tenant privacy. She CONSTANTLY talks about other residents by name and in specificity. I knew all about my neighbors upstairs, next door, down the hall.. And I'm sure others know about me because she is so unprofessional. Additional problems include: - Being charged for utility usage on our return deposit, despite paying the bill two months prior - Being charged the electric bill for the last month, despite paying that online - Multiple additional ridiculous charges from deposit - Smoking units being in the central part of the apartment - nonsmokers have to walk through that area to get their mail. It smells HORRIBLE - Our smoke detector batteries were changed. They started beeping "low battery" within hours. Notified staff & they were replaced. No joke, within hours of returning that same night, they started beeping again. Had to contact staff again - Took several days to have the garbage disposal fixed - was first told "it's fine" and then when they finally realized it needed repair, parts were purchased, but they were the wrong ones so took even longer - Was told upon move in I should have a building handbook in the kitchen drawer. Upon discovering no such handbook, was told I would receive one. Two years later....still waiting - Was told personal information about those interested in the unit after we gave notice & they started showing people the place Positives: - Large master suite (walk-in closet very nice) - Washer/Dryer in unit (loud!) - Front closet storage is a plus - Patio is large, shaded Overall.... Go ahead and move in - but make sure you have everything in writing with them. Be very specific about damages/cleanliness when you move in including anything that looks like it was repaired after a previous tenant. Anything Patti or Lori say to you - record it or get it in an email and make sure Bill is on it and acknowledges it. Schedule a walk-through a good week before you actually plan on moving out. And Good luck."
"RENTERS BEWARE!! When we first moved in, we enjoyed living in our upper 1 bedroom/loft apartment because the unit was quiet and we were rarely disturbed. The property manager at that time, Darrell, took good care of the place. Living there became a nightmare once Lori and Patti took over. We moved to a lower 2-bdrm unit when we had our first child. We were both so thankful that a larger unit became available and equally as distracted by our new baby that we did not make a fuss over seemingly minor problems with the unit. One week into our new lease the closet bi-fold door spontaneously fell off the hinges. We attempted to fix it ourselves but could not find a missing hardware piece. I called Lori (manager of repairs) and told her the door needed to be repaired. She said we needed to find the missing piece in order to fix it. My husband spoke to her in the hallway about it and again she stated the door could not be fixed without that missing piece. The door was NOT repaired the entire time we lived there. Two months later our kitchen light fixture started flickering. Lori was incredibly rude, argumentative, and stated that this was “the last thing she wanted to do the day before a holiday”. When I explained that the repair could wait, she insisted on coming over anyway saying “well you want to cook, don’t you?” When she finally came over she complained that she needed to wait for us to answer the door, even though she was well aware we had an infant to take care of. She remedied the issue by telling us that those fixtures had a tendency to overheat (hence the flickering) and those overheated wires could start a fire. She replaced the fixture with an identical one and advised us to keep the lightbulb uncovered. Needless to say, we did not “trouble” her again with anything that we could even remotely live with. We decided to not renew our lease for September 2018. Because of our unpleasant experiences with the property managers, we began to feel uneasy and suspected that we would be taken advantage of and receive a dishonest assessment of our security deposit. I sent a text message to Patti to please take a quick look around our unit at the next showing and let us know if there were any glaring issues that we could resolve before we officially moved out. I reminded her about the condition of the unit when we moved in so we would not be penalized for damages done by the previous tenants. The day of the walk-through, Lori had already gone through the apartment with the owner and marked the check list before we arrived. Lori said it was suspicious that we pointed out the damage in our text message and accused us of trying to pass blame. They charged us for damage done by the previous tenants with 3 intact cats (2 is the limit set in the lease) even though our cat was declawed. Lori refused to call the owner to come back and settle the dispute or provide the previous condition report for comparison. Lori refused to take our veterinary records that proved our cat was declawed. Lori stated that damage was done to the screen door frame from using the screen door as a door, and we were not supposed to be using the screen door as a door. (Side note-It does not matter whether we opened the screen door to have coffee on the patio or open the screen door to walk to our car- the door is used the same way.) They quoted us an outrageous price to replace the door. When we disagreed with the assessment and told her they were being dishonest and unfair, Lori proceeded to SCREAM and CUSS at my husband and I, with my baby in my arms (I have video proof). Lori said we should just be happy that we’re getting back more of our deposit than most tenants. The owner was contacted multiple times since we lived there, including after we moved out. We were neither called nor emailed back."
"Awful property managers. We left our apartment spotless, cleaner than it was when we moved in, and they still decided to keep almost our entire deposit."
