"I attended Rock Creek Elementary School the year it was built, 1962. I was in kindergarten. The first half of the year we met in the Mt Vernon Grange Hall. We were in the new school second half of the year. My teacher the late Mrs. Dorothy (Dottie) Young. I loved it, but disappointed that there was never a 50th anniversary."
"Staff has their organization together, teachers are wonderful, a lot of focus on kindness on campus. Majority of students are minority. That really seems to work in the school favor to make them more aware of individuals and put more effort into the success of school through successful reaching and teaching of students."

"My boys went here and loved it. Yes the minority was Mexican but all the staff are very friendly anyone bashing this school must be looking at the wrong place. My oldest was also in the gate program which is hard to get into."
