"I worked as an instructor at this tutoring company in 2022, providing tutoring services to multiple students over the course of a year. However, I had several concerns that led me to eventually quit. My primary complaint revolves around the financial compensation system at EES. As a contracted worker, I was promised a financial bonus at the end of each contract period. Unfortunately, despite handling approximately 4-7 contracts during my time at the company, I never received these bonuses. This resulted in a significant loss of income, amounting to roughly $800-$1400, which accounted for 30%-50% of my earnings for the year. It was disheartening to not be adequately compensated for my services. Furthermore, I had reservations about the quality of the tutoring services provided. While the company primarily focuses on K-12 students, I was assigned to tutor an Electrical Engineering student in their Jr. Year of University and a Freshman studying Calculus remotely via Zoom. Despite going above and beyond to support these students academically, I did not receive any bonuses for these additional contracts. However, my most significant concern lies with the teaching methods employed by the company. All academic support is conducted through multiple-choice questions from black-and-white subscription websites, such as IXL and ReadLive. This approach often left my students feeling frustrated and disengaged, and they frequently expressed their dissatisfaction with these platforms. Moreover, the physical environment in which the tutoring sessions took place was less than ideal. The students were confined to an office space with no windows, consisting of only two chairs and a desk. This setting, which the company rents out for its services, fails to provide a stimulating and enriching atmosphere for children. The lack of visual appeal and natural light can be demotivating for students. In summary, my experience at this tutoring company was marred by inadequate financial compensation and concerns regarding the teaching methods and physical environment. It is disheartening to see students spend long hours in an uninspiring office setting, and I believe there is room for improvement in providing a more nurturing and supportive learning environment. Edit: After a conversation with my previous employer, they generously provided the bonuses I missed out on. I would like to suggest that EES is successful in helping students catch up in curriculum by focusing on fundamental skills. This is done so by the learning resources that EES utilizes. As previously mentioned, the setting is difficult for the student but finding the right learning instructor is key to the students success."

The staff at Education Enrichment Services has been wonderful in helping achieve our goals of improving his reading and writing. They are fully qualified to teach multiple grades, work well with unenthusiastic students, and they have a great staff with supportive schedulers and flexibility. I don’t know what we would’ve done without them!
