Reviews of Calavera Hills Middle School
"This school was not so great, the kids are very bad, for example, the girls here will do anything to get what they want, either from befriending the teachers to gain trust to accuse you, to just spreading lies and rumors. There's poop on the floors in the bathrooms, and the children have no sense of personal space. To top everything off, If you get stuck talking to the principle about a incident, THEY WILL NOT GET YOUR SIDE OF THE STORY, BUT ONLY THE KIDS WHO ACCUSED YOU OR GOT YOU INTO THIS MESS. Mr. Ecker is not a great principal, no matter what all these other reviews say, they are wrong, he is stubborn as hell!"
"As a student that just graduated last year, it was a year full of memorable memories and good friends that I made along the way. In the beginning, I felt lost and afraid among the masses and the transition from elementary to middle school. However, there were great teachers and amazing friends that made me feel comfortable and right at home there at CHMS. I've enjoyed and learned a lot from that school, and it helped me prepare for the journey beyond its doors."
"As a former student, I saw that Calavera Hills had a lot of spirit and the school and students were all very well connected. Because it is a small school, every one knows each other. But it is a small school, so funds are tight, so they had to cut back on field trips and many supplies are under-stocked. Science was always interactive, English was though provoking, and Math was led by some very inspirational teachers. With programs like WEB and ASB your student will have fun walking these halls."
"The reviewers before me who criticized the school harshly have very narrow opinions of school in general. Yes, there are some teachers who weren't spectacular, but there were also teachers who inspired me and are continuing to affect my future positively with the lessons they taught and the knowledge I gained. The school lunches, in my opinion, are very nice compared to many other schools. Also, the schools handle on bullying is very reassuring. Students are not physically harming or humiliating other students, and if they try they are receiving a very nice detention slip. The school does not, however, have complete control over matters that happen verbally in secret or online in websites such as Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and even the oldie, Facebook. They are trying their best in doing this, and are educating their students to be safe while on the Internet. There are many options in the Math program for students, and everyone will find their place. The class will be at the right pace for you, so you won't be falling behind or getting bored out of your mind. It is a truly beautiful school, and is relatively new. The neighborhood is safe and also very attractive. The staff has the main priority of keeping us safe and I truly believe I am safe when I enter the gateway. It is an environment built for making friends, learning, and becoming the person you are meant to be."
